Outlook: Charlotte's best player is a defensive stalwart (much to the delight of Larry Brown), but this is compounded by his so-so scoring ability. Ideally Crash should be a 3rd option, but instead he's forced to be the main man. That's one of the reasons why Charlotte should be expected to remain a "lottery power".

Outlook: Felton can run the point, and isn't bad defensively, but as with Wallace, he isn't much of a scorer, which is a recurring theme with this team. He is still a free agent, and in my opinion it looks like he'll be back for the qualifying offer as both sides are far apart on a deal. Charlotte doesn't look like they want to commit long term as Felton is only average, doesn't have much upside, and they have D.J. Augustin waiting in the wings. In other words, Felton will probably be playing for a new team in 2011.

Outlook: Diaw is one of the more versatile players in the game, possessing excellent perimeter skills for a power forward. Of course, since he's more of a small forward, he's a bit weak on the boards and in the post defensively.

Outlook: Chandler followed up his breakout season in New Orleans with a clunker as he struggled with injuries throughout. He isn't much of a post presence, which makes him a worse offensive player than Okafor (unless Felton randomly transforms into Chris Paul). Since he isn't better defensively either, the team pretty much downgraded itself to save money.

Outlook: One of the best scoring guards in the league thanks to his quickness. All he needs is a better 3pt shot to make him completely unguardable. Unlike other scoring guards, Parker can run the point and get his teammates involved rather effectively as well.

Outlook: Has quietly become a very good scorer, no longer reliant on Jason Kidd to get him his points. Will need to recommit himself to defense in San Antonio, something he should gladly do now that he's back to being a 3rd-4th option rather than a 1st. The fact that the team opted not to bring back defensive specialists Bruce Bowen and Ime Udoka makes Jefferson's defense all the more important, as it could be the determining factor in whether the Spurs are contenders or pretenders.

Outlook: Has fully recovered from mid-career injuries to become a very solid player. My guess is he comes off the bench in order to stay healthy for the playoffs.

Outlook: Another player who found his game in Europe, and has made his NBA return as a potential bargain for a contender. When we last saw Haislip, he was an athletic PF and a poor rebounder/defensive player. Fast forward a couple years, and he's developed his offensive game from both inside and out (though he still remains just as bad on the glass and defense). He should get a backup role and might even start for the team (hey, if Matt Bonner can, why can't Haislip?)

Outlook: The best shooting center in the league. Unlike other shooters his size, he can rebound and play some defense as well. Outlook: Salmons filled in for Deng after his injury and the team didn't miss a beat. Now he'll fill in for Ben Gordon as the team hopes for a similar effect. Since they are both good scorers with poor defense, I'd say it's pretty likely.

Outlook: Lost between the emergence of Rose, and Hinrich's injury, was the fact that he rebounded from his poor season a year prior. He's the primary backup at both guard spots and will probably see more time at SG due to how many minutes Rose is capable of logging (and with Pargo in town, that might push Hinrich exclusively to SG).

Outlook: An athletic player who has yet to consistently apply it to his game. He doesn't have much of a post game, and he hasn't developed his perimeter skills enough to play SF. Entering his contract year though, which could mean he finally "gets it".

Outlook: One of the best backup centers in the league, thanks to his excellent shooting ability. Still rebounds well and is a very intelligent offensive player. He offers a nice alternative to Ben Wallace-esque Joakim Noah.

Insider Look (at my life)

I've been running a little behind on my rating releases. Here's why.

Saturday 5PM: Wrote up Sixers ratings.
Saturday 7PM: Surprise birthday party for best friend.
Saturday 9PM: Playing Beer Pong.
Saturday 10PM: Received phone call from my new job. They're opening two weeks early and ask if I can come in at 11AM tomorrow. I say sure.
Saturday 11PM: I'm drunk.
Sunday 1AM: We went to a bar? I left.
Sunday 4AM: Sleepy time.
Sunday 9AM: Oh ****.
Sunday 11AM: Workin it
Sunday 10AM: Not workin it.
Sunday 11AM: Pissed off that absolutely nothing happened in the NBA while I was gone. Venting on blog.

Right now: Prob gonna play 2k and Marvel vs Capcom to relax.

THE FUTURE
Monday 8AM: Good ol' steady job that doesn't call me in when I'm in the middle of getting bombed.
Monday 6AM: Holding a rehearsal for my show. I think.
Monday 11AM: Writing up Friday's ratings, and Monday's ratings.

VOTE FOR THE NEXT TEAM YOU WANT! Presuming you read this far, of course.

EDIT:
1AM: Just busted Cavs and Rockets asses using the Knicks online.
