  1. Thx for the update Rashidi.

    Do you update Detroit Pistons this time ?

  2. Very nice. Nice to see big man like Bogut, Gasol with jacked up mid range games when they can't shoot period. I like almost everything and I would be happy if I bought NBA 2k and these were the rosters.

    Two things stood out to me and thats Wall having low 80s for handle, and you must be a NY Knick fan since the Knicks were the only team that seemed to be alittle high. Especially with Felton rated a 80.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Same guy as above. Im sure you looked at this for Wall.

    John Wall is a 20 year old 6 foot 4 inch 195lb PG. ... WallĂs ball-handling skills in tight spaces are currently not up to par with his amazing athleticism.

    I also see more comments about his ball handling skills and that is just one comment. Walls has blown my mind this year and I have not seen anything in his gameplay that would point out bad ball handling.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I don't see Wall turning the ball over alot when handling it. Lebron has a 87 for handling and he loses his dribble more than anyone player I watched in years.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Shit, the NBA hotspots seems down this year...

    ReplyDelete
  6. Handle = dribbling
    Security = control (turnovers)

    ReplyDelete
  7. Hotspots are down, which means one must resort to hoopdata.com.

    Hoopdata is more efficient, as I don't have to use a calculator to combine all the zones, plus they list how frequently a player was assisted from that zone (which matters when we're talking about shooting percentage).

    ReplyDelete
  8. Why not.

    At Rim = Inside ?
    <10 = Close shot ?
    10-15 feet = ?
    16-23 fett= Med shot ?

    ReplyDelete
  9. I agree with previous guy that your way off base with Wall. Also Durant is 6-10, and Beasley is 6-9.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Raymond Felton has been killing it this year, much to my surprise.

    Felton 2011
    19.9 PER
    .589 TS%

    3.7 ORB%
    8.6 DRB%
    35.0 AST%
    2.6 STL%
    0.7 BLK%
    18.8 TO%
    22.1 USG%

    Felton 2010
    15.2 PER
    .525 TS%

    2.5 ORB%
    10.5 DRB%
    29.5 AST%
    2.5 STL%
    0.7 BLK%
    15.4 TO%
    19.2 USG%

    The biggest difference has been his shooting.

    2011
    FG: 47.1
    3PT: 36.3 (double last yr's attempts)
    FT: 90.5 (easily career best)

    2010
    FG: 45.9 (previous high was .413)
    3PT: 38.5 (this came off 28.5 season)
    FT: 76.3

    Impressively, many of Felton's threes have been off the dribble, and highlight a marked improvement for a previously inefficient driver. Because of everything else he does, the huge shooting boosts is the difference between being an average PG and Jameer Nelson territory (borderline all-star).

    Felton is averaging 18 points, 8 assists, and 2 steals, along with that .589 TS%. By comparison, the much hyped Brandon Jennings (78 overall) is averaging 18 points, 5.6 assists, and 1.3 steals, while posting a putrid .506 TS% (which is a significant improvement over last season's .475).

    Jennings is pretty much 2010 Felton with a gunner mentality (and a core reason why the Bucks are dead last in offensive efficiency).

  11. I agree with previous guy that your way off base with Wall.

    Using Felton as a base again...

    Felton: 18 points, 8 assists, 2 steals, .589 TS%
    Wall: 18 points, 9 assists, 2.7 steals, .530 TS%

    Also Durant is 6-10, and Beasley is 6-9.

    Not going by their official listings...

  13. I did not re-edit Wall prior to roster release, so let me make a quick revision.

    Wall
    80 Overall (+1)
    73 3pt (+7)
    82 FT (+4)
    86 SOD (-5)
    70 SIT (-3)
    90 Pass (+1)
    78 Security (+15)
    33 Block (-6)
    78 Durability (-7)

    Wall cut his turnovers after Arenas returned. He had a brutal 3-game strech (games 3-6 of the season) where he posted 8, 9, and 6 turnovers respectively (also put up 3 turnovers in games 1 & 2 of the season), but has since followed that up with 1, 1, 4, 1, 3, 2.

    Naturally, his assist rate has also been lower, but in general he's taken better care of the ball, as his dribbling was a bit wild to start the season. 82games lists 15 ball handling turnovers and 5 offensive fouls, and most of them came early in the season.

    ReplyDelete
  14. While we're here, it's time to revisit another Wizard.

    Gilbert Arenas
    75 Overall (-4)
    81 3pt (+2)
    69 SOD (-26)
    64 SIT (-5)
    72 Pass (-10)
    86 OffAwr (-7)
    75 Consistency (-10)

  17. I would put wall behind Nash at #7 right now as a rookie. I started my season with your roster update. It seems like you touched on most players on every team so no team got left out right?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Do you update Detroit Pistons this time ?

    Rip, Gordon, McGrady, and Daye were edited. I thought I had edited Stuckey but did not.

    I've since edited Stuckey, Prince, & Wallace.

    ReplyDelete
  19. All the top players have been edited. I'm checking my rating list for errors and will post it to the topic soon.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I've been playing with the most recent version of your PS3 roster for my association and at first glance noticed a significant difference between teams you've edited and teams that you haven't.

    As a quick example the game against the Knicks felt very good and NY had a properly balanced attack, but the game against the Thunder was terrible. Kevin Durant put up something like 50 points and went 10-15 from beyond the arc. It seemed almost every time they got in a half court set he would chuck up another 3.

    I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product once all teams have had their touches and playbooks fixed.

    ReplyDelete
  21. any new teams done for quick match?

    ReplyDelete
  22. At the moment, the PS3 file is not as updated as the XBOX file.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Just wanting to make sure before I start my association. Are the touches tendencies for each team correct?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Every player that has been edited has a revised touch tendency.

    All the top players have been edited.

    There are sure to be some stragglers with a bogus rating here or there but the majority have been fixed.

    ReplyDelete
  25. have you finished the Thunder?
    also rookies

    ReplyDelete
  26. Why does Zydrunas Ilgauskas have a +10 to his 3 point shooting? It went from 67 to 77. I think this has to be a mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Rashidi great rosters! please tell me that players of sacramento kings you have edited

    ReplyDelete
  28. Why drop Roy so much? He's clearly playing very injured right now -- it's not like his skills have diminished though.

    ReplyDelete
  29. So what does everyone think about Rashidi giving John Wall a 83 for main hand dribbling?

    ReplyDelete
  30. The top players compared to 2k insider do not match your current roster update you put out yesterday. Quick Example Carmelo is a 85 not a 87. Also Can you list the changes you already made, and Also look at Ben Wallace and Stuckey or list your changes. Wallace stands out in your rosters like a sore thumb with a 74 overall rating.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Rashidi when u see this can you list the changes to Ben wallace, price, and stucky?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Can you explain Melo being behind Durant? I'm a fan of both but Melo Does more on the court than durant. ex.. rebounding. and durant plays 6 more Mins than Melo. and another thing. CP3's midrange 88... Kobe-85 and Beasly 86. Cj watson 86 and Hordord 85? Kobe is By a LONG SHOT a better midrange/shooter than these guys Melo also

    ReplyDelete
  33. i think this game is dead to me.
    if i play on all star the AI is only taking plain awful shots so i give blowouts.

    i put it on superstar and the difficulty level is like 1000% higher. the cpu cheats me in almost every part of the game.

    pls play once the rockets on superstar and you see what i mean.
    i make a clear block on yao's jumper and the ball just goes through the hand of Big Z (ridicoules!!!), cpu gets no contact whatsoever on drives into the paint (funny forcefield just pushes my defender away LOL). Yao jumping like 5Feet in the air to grab the off. rebound.
    what really blows my mind is how the cpu gets 24-28 shots every quarter with constant full court passes after every rebound and the list goes on and on.

    so this is what 2K understands under difficulty. either u wont get cheated and user is clear superior to the incredibly dumb AI or you go one difficulty higher and get cheated in every aspect of the game.

    even though it wasn't with rashidis roster(i'm on pc) i can't imagine it fixes that much. pls prove me wrong

    ReplyDelete
  34. Why does Zydrunas Ilgauskas have a +10 to his 3 point shooting? It went from 67 to 77. I think this has to be a mistake.

    Ilgauskas is 26-62 (.419) on threes from 2009-2010, compared to 5-37 (.135) over the rest of his career (1998-2008).

    He doesn't attempt many (and may never attempt one in Miami), but he can certainly hit the shot when left open.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Rashidi great rosters! please tell me that players of sacramento kings you have edited

    Tyreke Evans - 80 (-2)
    Beno Udrih - 70 (+4)
    Luther Head - 62 (+5, as he drops to 57 when switched to PG)

    I originally was going to implement my 2010 ratings into them but they are playing so badly that they all need re-evaluations, which I'll get to this week.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The top players compared to 2k insider do not match your current roster update you put out yesterday. Quick Example Carmelo is a 85 not a 87.

    Aware of this, he was another player I edited yesterday, the change will be reflected in the next update.

    Off the top of my head, the only thing I did was boost his defensive rebounding 20 points.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Can you please post the edits for Wallace, Stuckey, Prince so I can do them myself and start my season. \

    ReplyDelete
  38. You try to make your self stand out from the garbage 2k insider then release more updates than him. Seems like you already edited 15+ players since your update days ago why not load it up quick. Its not gonna hurt anything.

    ReplyDelete
  39. CP3's midrange 88... Kobe-85 and Beasly 86. Cj watson 86 and Hordord 85? Kobe is By a LONG SHOT a better midrange/shooter than these guys Melo also

    Mid-Range
    Beasley: 47-95 (49.0%) - 48.9% Ast'd
    Watson 2010: 87-189 (46.0%) - 44.8% Ast'd
    Watson 2009: 102-224 (46.0%) - 38.2% Ast'd
    Melo: 45-102 (44.0%) - 42.2% Ast'd
    Paul: 25-57 (44.0%) - 4.0% Ast'd
    Kobe: 42-108 (39.0%) - 28.6% Ast'd

    Melo was at 40 and 39% the last two seasons, so he'll go up. Kobe is actually DOWN from 41 and 42%.

    SHOOT OFF DRIBBLE and SHOOT IN TRAFFIC matter just as much as the actual shot ratings! Kyle Korver is a lights out shooter but he's not going to hit the same shots Kobe is.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Can you please post the edits for Wallace, Stuckey, Prince. Or just upload your current roster file please.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Al Horford
    2011: 35-62 (56.0%) - 97.1% Ast'd
    2010: 88-182 (48.0%) - 90.9% Ast'd

    Al Horford is pretty obviously a great mid-range shooter. A high rating does not mean he can shoot a contested 18 footer off the dribble. He is undeniably money with his feet set.

    ReplyDelete
  42. You try to make your self stand out from the garbage 2k insider then release more updates than him. Seems like you already edited 15+ players since your update days ago why not load it up quick. Its not gonna hurt anything.

    Because there are many more changes to be made, and flooding 2K Share with a roster every single day will only serve to confuse.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Its not gonna confuse anyone. Mostly adults here and I think we are smart enough to read a date on a roster file.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The 2k insiders has a advantage that he has access to everything even secret details, and has to submit his roster to 2k. You have the freedom of releasing a roster everyday or anytime you want to load one up.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Well Im going back to 2ks rosters. Both rosters have flaws. Ill give your rosters another chance when there 100% complete and everyone is rated the same way. Really don't like how every pg has such high SOD ratings, and how so many scrubs have such high SIT ratings. Also your really biased to the Knicks if that hasn't ben mentioned already.

    ReplyDelete
  46. ^Thanks for letting us know all that.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Really don't like how every pg has such high SOD ratings

    Most PGs do the majority of their scoring off the dribble.

    The ones that don't?
    61 - Steve Blake
    60 - Luther Head
    53 - Derek Fisher
    50 - Jason Kidd
    47 - Mike Bibby
    44 - Eddie House

    If you want to stick with 2K's rosters which have...

    82 - Mike Bibby
    79 - Eddie House
    77 - Derrick Rose
    76 - Russell Westbrook

    75 - Luther Head
    74 - Derek Fisher

    ...then go have a blast down there with your head in the sand.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Likewise with Shoot in Traffic

    2K Sports
    76 - Chris Paul
    75 - Amare Stoudemire
    74 - Dwight Howard
    73 - Deron Williams
    72 - Shaquille O'Neal
    61 - Kyle Korver
    37 - Marcin Gortat

    Rashidi
    99 - Dwight Howard
    85 - Shaquille O'Neal
    84 - Amare Stoudemire
    70 - Deron Williams
    66 - Marcin Gortat
    60 - Chris Paul
    37 - Kyle Korver

    If you think 2K is more accurate... you won't be missed.

    ReplyDelete
  49. (for those that can't figure it out...)

    Guards = High SOD, Low SIT
    Bigs = Low SOD, High SIT

    There are some bigs floating around that have low SOD AND low SIT. Gortat is one such example. He has 25 SOD and 37 SIT which we can all agree is dead wrong when Spencer Hawes is running around with 45 and 64 respectively.

    Ditto for Birdman Chris Andersen who has 30 SOD and 45 SIT, and has had those ratings for the last 5 years. Who do they think he is, Michael Doleac?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Your not listing all the scrubs with high 90 SIT like Kwame Brown and I seen a ton others. Most PGs have high SODs than alot of the top scorers in the NBA. You give Wall no credit for handles but you think he deserves a 90 rating for SOD. Sorry but your a stat whore and don't use common sense. You also don't realize this is a video game and if you jack SODs and SITs like you do you have super inflated shooting %s in game.

    Im not a fan of the 2k insider but I come to the conclusion that any roster will be flawed with 1 person doing them period. theres things that bother me about 2ks roster and things that bother me with yours.

    Ill go back to trying your rosters when they are 100% complete.

    ReplyDelete
  51. SIT means how well a player shoots or finishes in traffic. You use it wrong and you make players like Kwame Brown and Tyson Chandler play like they are allstars in the paint.

    ReplyDelete
  52. (for those that can't figure it out...)

    Guards = High SOD, Low SIT
    Bigs = Low SOD, High SIT

    LoL wow someone who spends all this time on rosters and doesn't even know what SIT means. Sorry you wasted all your time. SIT is for all players that are good at scoring in traffic. Its not just for big man lol.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Thusly...

    High SOD + High SIT = Star
    Low SOD + Low SIT = Scrub

    Rashidi
    Westbrook = 99/77
    Paul = 99/60
    Rose = 93/61
    Wade = 92/79
    LeBron = 90/76
    Deron = 80/70
    Kobe = 79/68
    Melo = 78/72
    Carter = 78/60
    Durant = 68/70
    Howard = 67/99
    Amare = 65/84
    Pierce = 64/79
    Dirk = 58/68
    Gortat = 45/66
    Korver = 37/37

    2K Sports
    LeBron = 85/81
    Durant = 84/83
    Kobe = 83/85
    Wade = 83/81
    Melo = 82/84
    Deron = 82/73
    Paul = 81/76
    Carter = 81/76
    Dirk = 80/76
    Korver = 78/61
    Pierce = 77/79
    Rose = 77/72
    Westbrook = 76/70
    Amare = 65/75
    Howard = 52/74
    Gortat = 25/37

    If Dirk having higher SOD than Derrick Rose and higher SIT than Dwight Howard is your cup of tea, then by all means...

    Dirk succeeds because he has the best shot ratings in the game... not because he does whatever the hell he wants on the court. That's why he's unstoppable in online games even though he's only dropped 40+ a mere 13 times in his career.

    I mean, unless you think the 6 foot Chris Paul finishes better in traffic than Russell Westbrook, Dwight Howard... unless you think Vince Carter finished in traffic better than Dwight Howard... unless you think a continually declining 32 year old Kobe Bryant is the best finisher in traffic in the entire league...

    I could go on but I'm hopeful people around here get the point.

    SOD & SIT are SHOT MODIFIERS. 70 Inside + 90 SIT DOES NOT make a player an offensive star. It means the player isn't totally useless as they would be with 70 Inside + 40 SIT.

    HMMM.... I WONDER WHO THE BETTER SCORER IS?

    ReplyDelete
  55. You give Wall no credit for handles but you think he deserves a 90 rating for SOD. Sorry but your a stat whore and don't use common sense. You also don't realize this is a video game and if you jack SODs and SITs like you do you have super inflated shooting %s in game.

    SOD =/= HANDLES

    Mike Bibby
    88 Handle
    47 SOD

    John Wall
    83 Handle
    86 SOD

    If you can't figure out the difference between these two players (and ratings), I generally feel sorry for you.

    ReplyDelete
  56. ::Ask yourself these Questions::

    are runners based on SOD or close shot or lay ups ?

    are hook shots based on inside shot or Low Post Scoring or SIT ?

    You have to take account SOD & SIT in every shot. Is the player creating for themselves & if theres anyone guarding them? A Player with a high midrange such as Al Horford, is money spotting up 15-18 feet, but his 85 rating in midrange isnt any good when you're using him to do iso dribbles & pulling up.

    Jamal Crawford & Joe Johnson on the other hand have lower mid range ratings but can create for themselves, pull up & knock down the shot.

    Players with higher rated SOD can get away with lower rated mid & 3pt shots & still make baskets b/c the game is more lenient on your feet being set with the SOD being so high. Therefor u can make those 3pts with average rated 3pt shooters off the dribble with the likes of Joe Johnson, Kobe Bryant & Lebron James.

    Also if u noticed the players with the best balance of SIT, SOD & shot ratings are mostly wing players. If you look at who usually leads the league in scoring its mostly wing players.

  59. Im a Bucks fan and liked Luke Ridnour when he was a Buck but 2k insider has him at 86 for passing and you I think 82 or 84 and thats still like 10 points to high. When has this guy every put up alot of assists? How did he ever get such a high pass rating. He had a career year last year and reminded me of a poor mans Nash but hes really jacked up this year.

    ReplyDelete
  60. SIT means how well a player shoots or finishes in traffic. You use it wrong and you make players like Kwame Brown and Tyson Chandler play like they are allstars in the paint.

    Tyson Chandler is posting an absurd .662 FG% He leagues the league in TS% (.747) and ORTG (136.8).

    In short, Tyson Chandler IS playing like an all-star in the paint.

    Also note that Chandler and Kwame both have lowered post games.

    Dirk has huge shot rating advantages, but does that mean he's the better scorer than LeBron? LeBron makes up for it with his modifiers. He can pull up for a shot anytime and he takes contact very well. Dirk? Not so much.

    And if you seriously think perimeter players finish in traffic as well as big men... LOL...

  65. D.J Augustine putting up 7 assists a game. Should be in low 80s for passing. In everyones rosters this year seems like Augustine is the forgotten PG.

    Augustin is averaging 7 assists in 36 minutes per game, which is hardly great. 13 ppg in 36 mpg isn't that great either. He's only hitting 34% of his threes, and isn't getting any steals.

    At the end of the day he's one of the league's worst starting PGs, and is only starting out of necessity, similar to guys like Jarrett Jack & Beno Udrih.

    I don't see that as one of the worst. I accually see that as one of the best. I bet his pass would be alot higher if he played on the Knicks.

  69. Take a look at JaVale McGee before next update.

  70. Im just trying to help and give some impute on the rosters. Looking foward to tomorrows update.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I don't see how hard SIT and SOD is to understand.

    The reason big men, even lesser talented ones, have a high SIT rating is because of where they play and score from. Bigs take more contact and can absorb more contact because of their size. People complain about scrubs like Kwamee Brown's SIT rating but how stupid would it be if contact in the paint caused him to miss every dunk in the game?

    Also, Passing =/= assists. Passing rating helps passing accuracy.

  73. As I experiment with these ratings

    I think another thing to take in consideration is height & athleticism ratings.

    Players with high vertical ratings tend to grab more rebounds & block more shots just b/c of this rating.

    Also I dont know if anyone else noticed this but players with higher Hustle ratings tend to tire more quickly. It seems like the CPU controlled players uses the turbo button more when the hustle rating of that player is higher.

    I'm sure if u switch his position to PF he'll rate rate a bit higher.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Chris Paul has the highest PER in the NBA right now & is 4th in efficiency. He's only averaging about 34 mins a game also, is shooting 49% from 3pt, & is leading the league in steals at 3 a game.

    Huh? Bogut just missed two weeks, so how is he lookin better every week? He scored 31 points last night against a battered (Howard-less) Magic team, but also went 5-16 from the line. The full range of motion in his wrist is NEVER going to return, as per the medical professionals that worked on it.

    He cannot shoot the basketball from distance anymore.

  90. He means Kobe and Durant score more points than Paul.

    To the people wondering what teams haven't been edited: I am pretty sure that every single team has at least a couple of players edited, just some rotation players and bench warmers that have not been edited yet.

    To Anonymous, who is likely the loser who plagerized Rashidis ratings not to long ago: I'd rather play with Rashidis 80% roster than with 2ks 10% edited roster. I love how a key role player in Utah's run is still rated a 58.

  95. I already said Im a Bucks fan. The Bucks are garbage and Bogut's wrist will have a full recovery. You read one thing on a player and your opinon is locked to that one opinion. Just like when you read that John Wall coming out of college can't handle the ball that well in tight spaces, yet if you watched Wall he handles the ball as good or better than any PG in the NBA right now.

    Im not biased to the Bucks. Besides Jennings and Bogut I think half the team is overrated and jacked up in yours and the 2ks rosters.

    And your biased to the NY Knicks. Its clear as dayhow jacked up you got them. What has Randoph done to get a 73 overall and his rating make him a beast. Your as biased as I ever seen. I know you were a Knick fan when I check out your rosters,

    ReplyDelete
  96. You are a stat whore and only base your ratings on stats. Or when it comes to the Knicks ou just jack everyone up. I gave alot of credit and spread the word on other forums about your rosters.

    And one thing that always comes up from everyone thats a big negetive for your rosters is you rely and lean to stats to much.

    Also I never said anything about Jennings rating I think hes rated good in both yours and 2ks roster. I don't agree wiht your rating as Bogut. Your basing his rating on injury. You can't base someones rating on playing injured.

    ReplyDelete
  97. TheMove, What should you rely on then?

    ReplyDelete
  98. And, I'm pretty sure you can rate on injury, especially when they are serious ones that will linger through the rest of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  99. There's a difference between losing a rating unjustly for a nagging non serious injury (like 2K Insider does every week) and lowering a rating for a long time injury that will forever hamper a player's ability to shoot a basketball. Bogut is being forced back like Roy was in the playoffs last year and it's going to change his game forever. Until Bogut plays better a lower rating makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Sorry about your team TheMove. I don't know much about the Bucks, but Bogut was definitely the man. But the man is busted up, and i doubt he even expects to play on the same level he did last season. Maybe one day.

    As for relying on stats, what do you suggest he do otherwise? What alternative is there to using facts and data to determine player ratings?

    I'd like to know what you're trying to say here.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I already said Im a Bucks fan. The Bucks are garbage and Bogut's wrist will have a full recovery. You read one thing on a player and your opinon is locked to that one opinion.

  106. So Rashidi says who cares about what Bogut did last year his rating is based on this current season which just started. Yet Anthony Randolph whos played in 11 games and only gets 9mpg has done nothing and has gone up in rating at 73 overall.

    Bogut has missed alot of game because of back spasms not his arm or hand. Hes 100% the same on defense. His post game is the same but hes not making his post shots. Boguts low post shot should go down, along with his mid range and that sit. Bogut could never shoot or make FT so that has nothing to do with his injury.

  110. Good defense doesn't equal high rating.

    Scoring has a much larger impact on overall than anything else.

    TheMove, you need to quit taking this like it is a personal attack on your team. Just take it for what it is. Honestly, who cares what the overall rating is, it doesn't really matter as long as the player plays like he should, and Rashidi usually nails that.

The only thing his injury is doing is his finishing. What does his arm and hand have to do with his low post? Its his low post shot that is hurting.

    Im just trying to help since I see every Bucks game. I watch about 10-15 NBA games a week. Im a Bucks fan but lets be honest I rather watch other teams.

    ReplyDelete
  116. If he isn't finishing, all of his shooting stats are going to drop, including LPS.

    Like I said, scoring makes up a lot of the overall rating.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Moute is one of the best defensive players in the NBA. What has Randolph done?

    He is also one of the worst offensive players in the NBA, and a leading reason why the Bucks have been the absolute worst offensive team in the league this season.

    Anyone whose seen both players play would rather have Randolph. Randolph is essentially an athletic Drew Gooden with ball handling/shot blocking ability.

    And I assure you, Drew Gooden wouldn't be in Mike D'Antoni's rotation either, not with Amare and Wilson Chandler playing the way they are.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Im done here. There your rosters do w/e you want with them. Theres a reason barley anyone DLs your rosters. If your rosters are so great why is your blog a ghost town and why do your rosters barley get downloaded.

    Yes the 2k insider rosters have alot wrong with them but so do yours and atleast the 2k insider takes feedback from everyone and doesn't jack up stupid useless stats everytime someone posts something. Its like your always on the defense about everything.

    You flip flop so much in your ratings. A player can play a few bad games and he takes a big drop in your ratings. Like every player is supose to never have bad games.

    You prob watched 1 or less Bucks games all year so far. Prob have not even watched Bogut play.

    Bogut
    35 mid range
    low 80s Off and Def Post
    low 70s for low post shot
    low 90s for block
    low 80s for off rebound
    90s for def rebound
    Off awareness should be high 70s
    Def awareness should be high 80s

    Right there is the mian catagorys off my head for Bogut. he should be rated around 80-81. Prob should drop his injury down.

    PS dumbass I was offered a job in California 5 years ago to be a part of a team that worked on NBA 2k rosters. I didn't take it as I couldnt live on the pay in California. So you never know who your talking to. I also worked for the Packers 5 years ago in thier scouting department for Mike Sherman for 2 years.

    I think the 2k insiders roster need work but its a better base than yours.

    ReplyDelete
  119. So can we expect a new roster update today or not Rashidi?

    ReplyDelete
  120. 1. People need to stop treating this like a soapbox for your personal team. If you think the ratings for your fav team are off, then you can choose not to use Rashidi's roster, and go back to NBA 2K or make the damn edits yourself! What's the point in asking someone to update your team and then disagreeing about the changes so viciously? Edit it yourself, then!

    2. This is also not a soapbox for whether you think you're better than Rashidi. Nobody here cares about your e-peen. Go edit your own rosters if you don't like the ones here.

    3. @ the person who said you can't trust roster changes to one person because you see issues with both 2K's and Rashidi's rosters... well, aren't you basically doing the same thing? You're relying on YOUR single judgement to decide what is wrong and what is right. Don't be a hypocrite.

    4. Going along with Point #3, I love the comments about Rashidi staring at stats too much. I take it we should be using our eyes then to judge every single player objectively? I'm glad we have so many potential elite-level NBA scouts who are just waiting for their big break with a NBA team. Please don't confuse judging your favorite players with judging an entire league objectively.

    5. Rashidi's doing a thankless job. As far as I know, this isn't his day job. Anyone who isn't a kid with no responsibilities, or still living with their parents as an adult, would understand how time intensive it is to try and update every single player and rotation so that the teams play as true to life as possible. And that's why most of you are here: you don't have the time, energy or know-how to DO IT YOURSELF. So go do that if you're unhappy, and allow Rashidi to work in peace so that there's a chance his rosters will hit the PC version.

    ReplyDelete
  121. @ The Move:

    I'm glad you didn't take the offer. California doesn't want you either. No actual professional would post the way you do, which bespeaks more of a child throwing a tantrum. No rational adult would be so jacked up about someone not keeping *their* rosters exactly the way *you* want them, and would be smart enough to simply DO IT YOURSELF.

    PS: I am Santa Claus, so be careful who you think you are talking to. You are getting a lump of coal this Christmas for lying about your credentials, you bad bad boy.

  122. Bogut's 31 point game last night (which came AFTER my roster release) was only his second time cracking the 20 point mark this season. The only other time was an OT game against the Celtics where it took him 48 minutes to reach 21 points.

    Seriously, was I NOT supposed to lower him?

    His shooting has been abominable and it's not like he's a featured offensive player like last season.

    Bogut is taking fewer shots, and it's because his game outside of 10 feet has evaporated. Those shots are going to Gooden now.

    Finally... you are acting like Bogut has been a star his entire career or something. Last year was very much the exception, and not the rule on Andrew Bogut. The main thing that improved was his defensive game, and that has still maintained (though he is taking fewer charges than past years for obvious reasons). Bogut has NEVER been a great offensive player, merely a good one.

  123. So can we expect a new roster update today or not Rashidi?

    Yes. Finished what I wanted to do with Detroit (added Jerebko and Wilcox as well), now just making some quick adjustments to Toronto.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Rashidi does this on the hope that one day 2k will ask him to do the rosters for NBA 2k or that he will land a job like that.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Toronto is an interesting team. They are generally very inconsistent due to all the role players. Amir Johnson and Jerryd Bayless played great today. Linas Kleiza and Leandro Barbosa were terrible though. Kleiza in particular has been brutal of late.

  127. Everything about the pistons looks pretty spot on from what I can tell from just overall ratings. Will Bynum seems a little low, although he's played pretty bad this season. Is that drop more from a slumping offensive game or is his phantom defense starting to show in his ratings?

  128. hi Rashid, i finaaly found somewere were i can talk to you

    i dont have 2k11 but 2k10 and is wondering if will put this new one for nba 2k10

    if not possible, is there any chance a website, were you'd post the rating of players or ratings for starting 5 players on teams online

    so i can see the rating and change the roster manually

    long time follower. (although i think we have had spats, particularly at OS.)
    before i made myself aware of the quality of this roster and dedication in the editor
    followed you since on ffaac thread.

    so now im here to ask, can you do some work on the grizz?

    good or bad.

    g.vasques has been getting burn. along with xavier henry starting now. one would think u would have edits on t.allen or some.
    also d.arthur?

    sorry if players listed have edits already. i havent gotten your latest roster yet.

    one more request is the Thunder.

    and wes matthews has taken the next step in his career.

    good day dude.

  130. I have no idea what the Raptors were doing today. Triano's substitutions in the 4th were terrible.

    Kleiza is a turnover machine. I believe he's playing injured (HUGE icepack on his knee when he was on the bench today) but his game is gone lately.

    Bayless has been great since he got here. Barbosa has his games but today was terrible. Bargnani looked out of it today, same with Weems.

    I hope this game didn't effect your opinion of the Raps too much, ha.

    Knicks looked good though, I don't see why people think you overrate them. Felton is back on track after the shakey start and Amare looks good without Nash. Fields and Chandler are solid players too.

    People just assume the Knicks are a bad team because of the past decade but this is an entirely new team.

    ReplyDelete
  131. The Knicks are 6th in the East right now.

    The 5 teams in front? The 5 that were supposed to be: Celtics, Magic, Bulls, Heat, Hawks.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Added team ratings.

    The difference between the 8th spot and the 15th spot is only a few games. It should swing around quite a bit, unless of course Bayless and Johnson continue their inspired play.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Wow all these people complaining about your ratings. They can go somewhere else and get their rosters if they don't like them. Why troll around your blog bunch a bums is what I say. Personally I think they are ten times better than anything else out there.

  134. I love hearing constructive criticism, and opinion's in general. If everyone thought the same way, the world would be a boring place.

    That depends entirely upon your definition of "complete". The NBA landscape changes every single day.

  141. Hi Rashidi, I have some questions; GIlbert arenas plays more minutes SG that PG so should change his position? Tiago Splitter is playing little but is better player than 70.. can you say de ratings of SAC kings players you have no edited? tHANKS

    ReplyDelete
  142. Hi rashidi. Could you post all the overall by team rosters? I can't download your roster.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Rashidi, can you explain why Boozer is the best PF in the game? I know he's good and the PF crop is weaker than its been in recent years but Boozer is a horrible defender and isn't a monster offensively.

    Also, why is Paul Pierce rated so low? He's definitely lost a step but he's still scoring an efficient 19 ppg on probably the best team in the league. Solid defense + 40% from 3 pt, he should definitely be in the 80s at least, right?

    Last, why is Pau Gasol rated so low? Is it cause he's playing out of position?

    ReplyDelete
  144. ^It's a mistake to put too much stake in overall rating. It should be looked at as no more than a helpful guide. It's not a reliable measurement of all the players' skills. Boozer is the highest rated PF because, according to Rashidi's analysis, he's the best at PF stuff. Most would say Dirk was better, but that's because he's better at non-PF stuff, like long-range shooting. I'm not sure what's factored into SF overall rating, but I'm sure the same explanation applies for Paul Pierce.

    I watched the Raptors yesterday, and they're a different team than they were 2 weeks ago.

    requests for rotation players

    Just about all players with 70+ rating have been edited, with the exception of Troy Murphy, Derrick Favors, and Brandon Bass, i.e. guys who are coming off the bench.

    In other words, the rotation players on the teams you listed have been edited.

    Jazz are done. Suns are done. Grizzlies, Wolves, Warriors, Wizards starters are done. Only team that needs work in that area is the Kings for a variety of reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  153. what frustrates me is you have yet to touch some teams and yet you have time to edit then re-edit the raptors.

    Jeeze, Sorry the Raptors have most of the most vocal fans in the league and are one of the most requested teams on here. Some people may brush them off but a lot of people realize that the Raptors have most of the biggest presence online and in the NBA in terms of fans. If the Raptors are updated it's because (a) they just made a trade and have been playing ball that didn't resemble what they played a month ago, (b) They are actually one of the funnest teams to watch 9 out of 10 times and (c)the fans are large online and request changes.

    Other teams, every team, will be updated with him. I don't see the complaining about there not being updates every day. The more time Rashidi has to work, the better the next update will be. Make tweeks, as I do, to certain players between updates. Not too hard.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Also, anyone have any online file I can d/l of the latest rosters? My XBox refuses to acknowledge my Ethernet cable. Not biggie if not, but if there's one online somewhere much respect to someone who can send it in my direction.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Hey Rashidi in regards to these comments on Bogut

    "The full range of motion in his wrist is NEVER going to return, as per the medical professionals that worked on it."

    I never read that before. I read in numerous articles (and googled before this post just to make sure) that doctors say he wont fully recover this year but eventually will. Can you point me to an article that says it will never return to form

    I'm not doubting you just never came across such news

    Regardless you are right to lower his midrange shooting for this season.

    Keep up the excellent work

    havent been able to get this roster yet.

    also CAVE im not ripping the raptors. i like the raptors.
    i love their future wish them well in life after bosh. i think d.derozan could be great one day.

    i admit my frustration that grizzlies xavier henry(starter)
    t allen and d.arthur havent been edited yet.

    so i was requesting them.

    my primary concern asking is the YOUNG players unedited and buried on the bench this year irl will progress in our associations unedited thus un penalized could allow scrubs to progress into solid contributers.

    and Caps are good, except jeff adrien, i would dl GT rowe32
    jeff adrien.
    and idk if ishmael smith has a fro.

    work much appreciated rashidi.

    ReplyDelete
  163. and to the guy saying for rashidi to restart his whole roster for the rookies missing..

    Elbow dislocation are rare and rarely simple. I can’t think of another time that an NBA player sustained such an injury. The troubling thing to me is that once healed the arm might never reach it’s full range of motion. I believe that Bogut is a rightie and a long term hitch could alter his shot and effect the way he shoots. I believe he’ll recover, but then again technically so did Shaun Livingston.

    I don't remember exactly when/where I heard it, but it is floating around out there.

    You can typically color me a pessimist (i.e. a realist).

    And since it's something that has dramatically affected his game THIS SEASON there is absolutely no reason why I shouldn't let it affect his season ratings. If he ever returns to form, I won't have a problem raising him.

    Production trumps all at the end of the day.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Rashidi You need to update this and do it again. I love you man but the inside has the original pictures E.g Dexter Pitman, Lance Stephenson ect.. I Think thats the only thing you need to add.

    That will NEVER happen. I refuse to use a roster with unremovable injuries.

    ReplyDelete
  167. You really think Wilson Chandler is a top 10 SF?

    Yes, because the SF position is really weak after the top 8. The top contenders for his spot (Luol Deng, Andrei Kirilenko, Caron Butler) are all having down years. Richard Jefferson is probably the best bet but his game isn't nearly as well-rounded.

    Worth noting Chandler is easily the best shotblocker among SFs.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I don't understand why you won't use a roster with injuries. The only thing the injuries affect are play now games. People don't wait months for your rosters to just use them in play now. Injured players can still be edited fully.

    Onto actual rosters, I agree with the whole SIT/SOD thing, but I think there are some players that deserve higher ratings. Kobe is one of the greatest scorers in NBA history, and he only deserves a 79/68? He makes a vast majority of his buckets all on his own. To compare, Shaun Livingston has a 78.
    David Lee's passing could maybe be a touch higher, because atleast in the games I've watched, he's moved the ball well. I think a 57 is just a bit low.

    ReplyDelete
  169. I agree about David Lee. I haven't seen a lot of GSW games, but from what I've seen, i think he can pass better than a 57. Especially against the Mavs tonight. I don't know all the facts and statistics, and Rashidi knows his Knicks inside and out, but I think it at least should be looked into.

    Of course I will defer to the guru.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Also, I don't know if you missed it, but Lou Williams has an 83 SIT rating IIRC. I hope this was an oversight and you don't actually think he's a better shooter in traffic then every other point guard and almost, if not all shooting guards

    Note - I don't have the game infront of me, but I noticed this before I turned it off while I was checking the ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Love the rosters... To anyone with problems with only a couple players, noone is stopping you from editing them on your own system to your liking...

    About the Bogut thing, he is ambidextrous and actually mostly shoots in the post or close with his left hand, so the injury isn't necessarily a source of permanent shooting problems (although he did shoot jumpers/FT with the right). However his opponent PER is 5.9 which I believe is the best in the NBA for players with significant minutes.

    That said, I am surprised that anyone could be surprised at any of the bucks players offensive ratings going down. If the season ended today they would be the worst offensive team OF ALL TIME.

    I don't worry too much about ratings as long as the players interact in realistic ways and play like they do when you watch them live, I'm happy. And your rosters are a lot closer than anything else.

    ReplyDelete
  172. So Rashidi says Production trumps all at the end of the day. And if a player is playing bad because hes injured that player will be rated of how he is playing with that injury like "Bogut".

    So Anthony Randolph has a 73 overall rating and the guy hasn't ever produced in the NBA and is always injured. Played in 11 games this year and done nothing.

    Who cares what Randolphs upside is coming into the NBA. Production trumps upside in the end. Shouldn't a player have to earn his ratings?

    If Bogut sat out the whole year and came back when he was better would he be rated on his play last year before the injury? Its a tough thing to determine but if your gonna punish injured players than be fair to all them.

    ReplyDelete
  173. So Anthony Randolph has a 73 overall rating and the guy hasn't ever produced in the NBA

    Except, he has.

    ReplyDelete
  174. As I said before... every GM in the league would take Randolph over Drew Gooden (71) or Ersan Ilyasova (70)...

  175. Lowest ORTG (pts per 100 possessions) by season

    2011: Bucks (99.6)
    2010: Nets (100.6)
    2009: Clippers (102.3)
    2008: Sonics (100.5)
    2007: Pacers (102.9)
    2006: Blazers (101.1)
    2005: Hornets (99.7)

    2005 Hornets details: Baron Davis missed 64 games. Jamaal Magloire missed 59 games. 19 year old J.R. Smith started 56 games. Lee Nailon started 51 games and lead the team in scoring with 14 ppg. Dan Dickau started 46 games and was 2nd with 13 ppg and 5 apg.

    That's how bad the Bucks have been offensively. They resemble a team that started Dickau, Smith, Nailon, P.J. Brown, and whichever fringe player was healthy that day.

    ReplyDelete
  176. The only thing the injuries affect are play now games. People don't wait months for your rosters to just use them in play now. Injured players can still be edited fully.

    I use them in "Play Now" games.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Rashidi, could you take a look at C.J. Watson's SOD? A lot of his mid-range shots appear to come from off the dribble situations.

    ReplyDelete
  178. rashidi,
    on the subject of top10 small forwards.

    you mentioned caron butler having a down year.
    i saw an interview last night with c.butler where he said alot of his troubles was that he came back from his back injury to early and he is just now feeling comfortable.

    also the BOGUT discussion.
    i agree with you dropping bogut as he hasnt been up to bar THIS season.

    so if anthony randolph cant get off this bench and u admit this in your twitter how do you not penalize him.

    the nyknicks have had the weakest strenth of schedule and he's still not playing.

    if you penalize one for not producing (this season) you have to penalize them all.

    ReplyDelete
  179. There is a difference between not producing due to lack of minutes and getting minutes and not producing.

    ReplyDelete
  180. In any project like this there are a lot of subjective calls to make.

    Rashidi has to weigh his rookie and sophmore season where he only played 63 and 33 games respectively, but played at one level against this season where he has only played 11 games but played at an abysmally should-not-be-in-the-league terrible level.

    Would it really be fair to say that Randolph's first 96 games were a fluke and that this 11 games is the 'real' Randolph who deserves a rating in the 40s or 50s? Should it be the first 96 games and just assumed that he will fully recover from all the injuries he has had as a pro?

    We will only know the answer with time or the power to fortell the future, something Rashidi doesn't have.

    With Bogut, the injury was much more serious but at the same time the only way to predict what will happen is to see what does happen.

    There are numerous cases like this of guys over or under producing over the first part of this season with increased and decreased playing time or injuries, and Rashidi has to make a call on every single one where there really isn't a totally objective solution, and he isn't exactly doing a terrible job.

    Lets cut him some slack, his rosters are awesome and play far better than the alternatives, and someone has to make these calls, and in every case there will be someone who disagrees with them. The best we can hope for is an attempt at fairness and it certainly appears that Rashidi more than doing that.

  184. Related: Jay Triano is terrible.

    I couldn't believe that 5 second violation. There's only so much a coach can do.

    ReplyDelete
  185. so if anthony randolph cant get off this bench and u admit this in your twitter how do you not penalize him.

    Anthony Randolph can't get off the bench, but that's not his fault. D'Antoni famously benched Nate Robinson for an entire month. Nate responded by dropping 41 in his first game back. How silly would I have looked if I had dropped him simply because his coach didn't like him?

    ReplyDelete
  186. My twitter musings are exactly my point. Jared Jeffries was making the same mistakes for YEARS but had unlimited rope with D'Antoni. The Knicks even signed Jonathan Bender out of retirement and gave him more of a shot than they are giving Randolph right now.

    I can understand not wanting to rock the boat during a win streak, but it's not like Timofey Mozgov is giving the team quality minutes. He is even more mistake prone than Randolph and can't go 10 minutes without picking up 4 fouls.

    The bulk of Randolph's minutes this year came subbing for Amare, rather than playing next to him. Asking Randolph to fill Amare's offensive role is simply idiotic. Meanwhile Mozgov got to START next to Amare for a couple weeks. D'Antoni's most annoying trait as a coach is allowing his personal feelings to affect his rotation.

    AR is similar to Nate in that he tends to freelance a bit and occasionally have questionable decisions, but they can take over a game when they've got it going.

    Which is more than one can say about Timofey Mozgov or Jared Jeffries.

    ReplyDelete
  187. On the Bargnani note, I actually have him down to 72 overall.

    Scoring is literally the only thing he is doing well right now. He's the worst rebounding center in basketball, and his shot blocking is down from last year too (zero in 39 mins tonight).

    In fact, when you take into account his turnover rate has spiked as the featured offensive player, he isn't really anymore effective than he was last season.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Thanks for finding that quote on bogut rashidi. I do agree with you lowering his ranking just all other articles I found said he'd recovery after this season. Hope for his sake he does

  190. Post, Rebounding & Defensive Attributes matters A LOT when your position is CENTER

    Bargnani has post game. He's not McHale, but it's pretty decent. His man to man defense is decent too. It's his help defense that needs a lot of work. Since Reggie's went down 7 games ago, Bargnani's average 7.6 boards a game. He's a terrible rebounder but the 5.5 is deceiving.

    None of which Bargnani does exceptionally well therefore he gets an average rating.

    Barg's rating is right where it should be. I know why it's low. It raises if he's moved to PF.

    Bargnani is a poorman's Dirk Nowitzki at best

    Was just saying... last night he looked like Dirk Nowitzki.

    Jay Triano > Linas Kleiza

    I couldn't believe that 5 second violation. There's only so much a coach can do.

    That 5 second violation wasn't the only problem last night. Triano's final play was horrid. I know Bargnani was unstoppable, but who did the Knicks expect to get that last shot? There's no chance D'Antoni drew up a defensive stop for somelike like Bayless or Weems. Weems' shot was off all night but he would've gotten something better if Triano had the Raptors setting screens, Bayless is playing great (where did he get this 3 pt shot from?). Just terrible. His substitutions in the 4th have been really weird lately too.

    That said, I'd keep Jay and trade Kleiza in a second, but that's not how the NBA works. Coaches are fired a lot easier than players with Kleiza's contract are traded. Plus, there's a better and more experienced coach waiting behind Triano as insurance if he gets worse.

  191. As a Cavs fan, I'm loving the Boobie Gibson update. He's a deadly 3 point shooter and can shoot off the dribble well.

    The Cavs unveiled a new starting lineup last night in:

    5 - Varejao
    4 - Jamison
    3 - Parker
    2 - Gibson
    1 - Williams

    Now this might be changed by the next update, but something to keep in mind.

    Btw, Hickson only played 9 minutes last night and scored a whopping 0 points. Now that may be because it was a close game for the whole game, but it shows that Byron Scott doesn't have full faith in Hickson, mostly because of his lack of focus and his horrendous rebounding.

    Manny Harris is also stealing some minutes in the rotation and Jawad Williams has basically taken over Jamario Moon's spot in the rotation.

    Loving your rosters, proud fan since 2k7. Keep em up.

  192. How do you plan to interpret injuries into the association without players getting furious with their minutes? (With player roles off, do players rage about their minutes?)

  193. Rashidi,

    Is there any chance you could edit the classic teams?

    In addition to adding the missing subs for non-Bulls teams, it would be awesome if you could tweak the player ratings as well for all classic players.

    I ask because I have had the desire to play with a 92 Dream Team vs 08 Redeem Team matchup in Play Now. If you're unwilling to edit the older teams, adding tweaked version of the 92 Dream Team would be awesome :D

    The Redeem Team isn't really an issue since it takes maybe 5 mins to create them considering the tweaks are already in place.

    Thanks again for the hard work. I really appreciate the sliders and they greatly add to my NBA 2K experience.

  194. Well Rashidi's rosters are good just got to edit Knicks your self since its his teams and he doesn't rate them properly or equal to other teams and players.

    If Randolph was as good as his ratings in NBA 2k trust me he would be playing heavy minutes. Go play with Randolph in the game hes a beast.

  195. I agree with Bogut being lowered but you have to treat all the players the same even if they play for the Knicks.

  196. Stats do not always equal a player's skill. Mike D'Antoni is not giving Randolph minutes, and with an inconsistent number of minutes a player cannot get into a rhythm throughout the season. If you guys want to use the same logic than JJ Hickson should be rated 70 or even lower. Yet no one is complaining about that. So this must mean Rashidi has haters looking at one aspect of a roster, just because he's a Knicks fan? I'd much rather play with Rashidi's roster despite some of its shortcomings than 2k's. Hands down.

  197. There's no concrete reason to lower Randolph's rating. There's no reason why he can't play on the same level he did the last 2 seasons.

    Think innocent 'til proven guilty. Good ratings 'til proven to be a poor player.

    It's a shame what happened to Bogut, but it is what it is, man. He's not playing as well. We've all seen it. Randolph has not played. Are we to just assume that he's gotten worse?

    When you assume, you make an ass out of u and me.
