TEAM RATINGS
Rating is average of Defense and Offense (2K's Overall proven to be inaccurate)

Rating, Team (Defense-Offense-Overall)

Please note that injuries are factored in, and that team rotations & player minutes matter just as much as the player ratings (if not more so). For instance, taking a mere two minutes away from Kobe Bryant and giving them to Derek Fisher will result in a 1 point reduction to the team's defensive rating (-0.5 overall). Taking Matt Barnes out of the rotation and giving all of his minutes to Luke Walton would result in a 3 point reduction to defense and a 1 point reduction to offense (-2.0 overall).

Revising teams for a multi-platform release. So far up to the Nets.

Rashidi said...

IIRC that means 18 teams down, 12 to go. I'm off from work the next two days.

This board is dying because Rashidi is slacking.

ITT: people who don't know what slacking means.

LeBron James close shot (for u <10 & 10-15 feet) from Hoopdata
- 90-204 .441

from NBA hotspots 0910
- 52-140 .371

There is a huge difference, from hoopdata LBJ is a quite good shooteur for close. From hotspots, he's badly from this spot.

According only 10-15 feet for close shot:
- 29-90 .322

(Sorry for my bad english and good luck for the next)

Hey nice to see my sliders get posted here in the comments! Nice job on the roster rashidi!

Just to make it easier I posted the sliders on my blog - Link by clicking on my name (if thats ok with you rashidi, I posted a link t your blog there as well). As I am from holland all of the posts are in Dutch however this one I posted in English because most of the users of this set don't speak dutch. The version I posted is the final version which I came up with after a lot of testing. But still looking for feedback and comments on these, so (for those blocked at OS and just interested) feel free to comment on them on my blog.

Thanks guys!

What is the eta on the next roster update, Rashidi?

Anonymous said...

Futhermore, i don't understand why James had 69 for close shot and Wade 86

According hoopdata <10 & 10-15

Wade: 80-162 .493 > 86 for close
James: 62-144 .431 > 69 for close

I don't understand.

I don't get sick often; today is my first time in two years. I'm doing some edit work right now but not as aggressive as usual as I don't really have the energy.

Get well dude. i think everyone been sick..

some of these anonymous guys make interesting arguements.

to bad u can't take them seriously b'c their well.. anonymous.

looking to ur next update.

Shelb said...

Anonymous is serious business.

Anyway, keep doing what you're doing... the ratings are the best on the net. I understand some people want their favourite players or teams having higher ratings but, if a player plays like he plays there's no reason to have anything changed, especially considering how much research you put into how you come into your ratings.

I finally got a chance to play with Blake Griffin in the game and I'm having trouble playing with him. Anyone got any pointers? I'm bad with spins and post moves at times, so should I just work on that? Is it the plays runs?

Anonymous said...

Griffin has no post moves really, which is why its terrifying to think what he would do once he gets them and improves his midrange game even more.

Heck, just how good he will be with some more experience.

In order to use him well, you should take advantage of his physical abilities, with isos, fastbrakes and such sort of offense.

Why can't I download your files? I can from other users, but not yours...

Rashidi my friend, we are growing quite restless. An update of the schedule would be great.

Anonymous said...

I am guessing a week or so.

Rashidi said...

I'm free all day so I'd like to finish the rest of the teams.

Rashidi said...

24/30 teams are revised.

Rashidi said...

The ones I'm working on: Raptors, Spurs, Thunder, Wolves, Warriors, Wizards

Rashidi said...

Nevermind, Warriors were revised, it's 25/30

Rashidi said...

Actually, Spurs are technically done too. Down to 4.

Anonymous said...

So, will a new roster be released today?

Celph said...

Rashidi I think you have Felton's passing under rated at an 83, especially with Rose at a 90 and Westbrook at a 92. Westbrook is closer to an 86/87 IMO, the majority of his assists seem to come on the fast break and he doesn't have exceptional court vision from what I've seen of him.

Anonymous said...

Rashidi lied!

Hey rashidi, in the new roster that you're doing, has the Landry Fields cap been improved?

CelphProclaimed said...

"Hey rashidi, in the new roster that you're doing, has the Landry Fields cap been improved?"

I just uploaded a created Knicks team to 2k Share with the real Landry Fields player model and Rashidi's ratings.

It's titled "Knicks" just search my XBL name and you'll find it

XBL:Johnny Kelevra

If anyone else wants to do this with someone on their team (Lance Stephenson, Dexter Pittman etc.)

1. Load Rashidi's rosters and start an Association, then export the team.

2. Now start an association for 2 Users with the default 2k rosters and turn "Customize League" on, replace someone with Rashidi's Team

3. Now trade Landry Fields for Landry Fields. (obviously, whoever the player in question is for you)

4. Now you have the real Landry Fields on Rashidi's team, edit him while you're still in Association to go along with Rashidi's rating and then export that Team.

5. Now you can load this team and replace Rashidi's Team with this created team if you want to start an association or whatever.

You have to make sure you do all the editing before you export the team, if you edit the team outside of Association it'll change the team's jersey.

Rashidi is seriously slacking.

Anonymous said...

Rashidi is seriously slacking.

Use 2k's rosters then.

Celph said...

"Rashidi is seriously slacking."

So then use 2k's rosters. No one is paying Rashidi to do this, he's doing it because he wants to, in his own spare time, he gets no compensation and very little thanks for the huge amount of time he puts into making the game better for a lot of people. He has a job and a personal life, this isn't his first priority, saying he's "slacking" makes you sound like a child.

Celph said...

Rashidi you've got some contracts incorrect.

Some I noticed were Lance Stephenson making 7.5M instead of 750,000 and Dexter Pittman making 1.8M instead of the league minimum 473k.

Yes Rashidi, Please make a PC roster. The REDITOR supports copy and paste soo if u have a spreadsheet of ne kind, its a simple copy-paste job.

CelphProclaimed said...

I've now uploaded the following teams to 2k share using Rashidi's ratings for the purpose of updating rookie player models, no injuries on any rosters, all teams have their correct jerseys, playbooks, coaches, tendencies, hotspots etc. the player(s) in question will be next to their respective teams.

1. The Knicks (Landry Fields)
2. The Lakers (Ebanks and Caracter)
3. The Pacers (Lance Stephenson)
4. The Suns (Garret Siler and Ganni Lawal)
5. The Raptors (Solomon Alabi)
6. The Celtics (Luke Harangody)

All are under my XBL tag: Johnny Kelevra.

So now you can play your association mode with the real 2k players models and Rashidi's ratings.

I plan on doing Terrico White, Willie Warren, Dexter Pittman and Pape Sy in the future.

@celph

u can do that but you will have to replug in the ratings for those players and maybe any edits he did for the replaced team/

Rashidi said...

I could have sworn I fixed those contracts months ago. They're fixed now. I will be uploading another roster tomorrow as I tweaked a few other things as well. As I've mentioned before, I am pretty much at the point where I could do daily updates if I desired.

(There won't be a writeup for the 1/12 roster for that exact reason)

also regarding reditor i do not have a spreadsheet, would have to make one.

You are the best !

Could you please tell us what, besides dayly updates, is still mising or not edited ? Dont have to detail them but just tell us generally.

i.e.
are coaches profiles updated after the trades (WAS/TOR/NO/ORL/PHO) and after coach fired (CHA) ?

are playbooks updated after roatation edits ?

this roster wont finish until end of season, but are all players edited ?

If that's the case, the roster is pretty much 100% completed, correct? That's really a great news, thanks Rashidi! Once I have downloaded your roster tomorrow, I can start applying SeanBarkley's Shoes and Accessories to your rosters so that I can start my Season (I'm not really an Association guy).

Celph said...

"u can do that but you will have to replug in the ratings for those players and maybe any edits he did for the replaced team"

Yeah but the changes are minimal from this point now that I've got them with Rashidi's ratings as a base.

All I have to do is start an association with the created team and Rashidi's rosters, trade the player to Rashidi's new team, and tweak whatever small changes Rashidi made for his new roster, which seem to have been minimal, at a quick glance (just in terms of the few rookies that needed a new player model.) All that will need to be done is +/- a few points in a few categories, rather than having to edit every rating, tendency and hot spot to go along with Rashidi's.

I only use them for Association so once they're done with the 1/12 update they're done, I won't be using them in regular quick games or anything like that so there's no need to constantly update them.

Cody said...

Don Domeng, will you be posting your roster with Sean Barkley's shoe edits to 2k Share? If so, what name will you be posting it under? I'd really like to be able to download it as I have not unlocked all the Jordan shoes or I would add them myself.

Rashidi said...

Don was quoting me. And no, I don't do shoes. I have never once noticed a players shoes in my 8 years of playing NBA 2K. I'm too busy looking at the ball and player movement.

Rashidi said...

I just updated the coach profiles a bit so the teams should play slightly more realistic.

Rashidi said...

Uploaded the 01-13-11 roster.

Don Domeng said...

Thanks a lot Rashidi! I'll start editing the accessories and shoes (using SeanBarkley's) of your roster later. I want to have realism as well on the presentation of the game, since you have already provided the realism on the gameplay. Thanks a lot man. Once I'm done with the shoes and accessories edit, I'll share it to you guys. I don't have the complete set of Jordans so I'll replace it with the nearest Nike or Jordan shoes. So Rashidi, the 1-13-11 roster you have uploaded is at 100% completion?

cash757 said...

Don do you have aim? or any other IM?

I was gonna do shoe edits, but if you are theres no need. I'd like to add sig shits, dunk/layup packages, etc also.. maybe we can get one nice file together for everyone to enjoy.

After playing a couple of games I noticed something wrong with the courts but couldn't put my finger on it until I played at TD garden and realized that, unfortunately, 2k uses alternate colors for the courts because it's a created team. So that throws a wrench in that idea.

Anonymous said...

@celph: i haven't noticed that when i played with my exported team knicks... are you saying that since the exported team is considered as a created team, it would mess up the court's colors?

Anonymous said...

Yes, it is annoying, there is no satisfactory workaround if you are all into authenticity and accuracy.

You have either generic courts or other discrepancies as custom colors.

importedgoods said...

load 2k's roster.

own the teams with missing players only rookies 2k made digitally will import 2k caps.

trade all to one team ex cavs.
save team.

exit association.

load rashidi's or desired roster.

before going into association take the real cavs players rashidi edited, assign all to FAgency

load the team up with 25 rated players who rashidi edited to "delete them".

with the real cavs in FA start a custom league with your exported cavs they should be next to class utah.

start association manage all teams who need a cap replaced with real player models.

you may have to edit contracts to match but managing the cavs, trade your exported real players for rashidi's edited caps until you have replaced each one.

now you have the same team.
before going further notate the players attributes tendencies and plug them into your imported players. then as you do that release them one by one.

and edit the cap down to 25 rated which "deletes" the player.

then put rashidi's cavs: who are in fa on the exported cavs.

now you will have to manually edit the cavs back to where he had them.

done.

Anonymous said...

any side effects will be with one team. so pick somebody you won't play often or would be tempted to simulate past.

remember its only the rookies 2k actually created not their half assed caps.

Anonymous said...

Whatever team you choose to export and bring into an association, will have at least one issue. It is random.

Be it a generic court, altered colors, restriction of uniforms (no alternates, retros, holy days), deformed names, etc.

It is all about of what it is important for you and with what issue you choose to live with.

I abandoned the idea once I noticed this. Also only a couple of those added players were really rendered, the rest are caps (lol).

Celph said...

"only a couple of those added players were really rendered, the rest are caps (lol"

What? Everyone I edited has a real player model besides Siler.

Celph said...

"i haven't noticed that when i played with my exported team knicks... are you saying that since the exported team is considered as a created team, it would mess up the court's colors?"

I think it depends.

I was playing an association that had the Raptors, Knicks (User), Celtics, Lakers, Pacers, Suns and Heat all replaced with exported teams and when I played the Raptors opening night I knew something was wrong but didn't know what, turns out the whole court was different. Toronto had the old raptor playing basketball logo at half court, all of the out of bounds territory was red instead of the normal wood, it didn't say "raptors" along either baseline, the key is white instead of wood.

As drastic of a change as all of that is I couldn't put my finger on it (because I could care less what the Raptor's court looks like, and had never payed attention to it up until this point) until I played the Celtics and saw the key was black, along with the 3 point line.

At MSG I noticed more things wrong that may have also been wrong with the other 2, but I'm not as familiar with those 2 venues as I am with MSG.

At MSG the entire building is different, there is no tunnel leading to the locker rooms behind the press area at half court, the circles inside the Knicks logo at half court are blue instead of white and stick out much more, the two rectangles on either side of the key are Blue instead of being the same Orange color as the key. All the line markings (restricted area, dotted line etc) are black instead of white and the seating in general is nothing like MSG.

It may be different for you though.

yes. use one team to load all the rendered rookies. i did it with cavs.

the court was fine, the only side effect was having only 1 home 1 away uniform. but that's ok. because their are jersey codes to add at least one alternate for cavs. i can live with that.

i wouldnt export anyteam with such prestige as MSG.
use a crap team that u dont care about

ya you export the rendered guys their are 14. use ONE team without the prestige of MSG on the opposite side of your conference and division. add the "all rendered team" save export.

and its just jersey limitations in this case i tested 3x. home and away. i can live with that

this entire rookie class should have been in the initial roster and we wouldnt be having this issue.
2ks stupid.

Shelb said...

The rookie class is on the disc, but players not signed when 2K finalizes the roster are hidden and unlocked by 2K in roster updates once they sign with their teams.

Celph said...

"The rookie class is on the disc, but players not signed when 2K finalizes the roster are hidden and unlocked by 2K in roster updates once they sign with their teams."

Which is even worse/makes less sense. They should be in the Free Agent pool until they get signed, nothing in the game we paid for should be "hidden" from us.

Anonymous said...

I understand that for legal reasons they cant place unsigned rookies within the game.

But if they were indeed already a part of it and would have been hidden until contract signing; while would it takes them a month to add them all ? If so, I would have to concede that it was pure negligence.

All rookies were signed 10 days after the game was released.

Again, if you look closely, there are some that are caps with cyber faces, others that are caps with real pictures and others rendered.

But even then, this does not becomes a valid excuse for not having updated rosters 15 days after opening day.

Derrick Rose is in need of a defensive boost.
This article on his improved defense is all you need to see. http://offthedribble.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/19/rose-dwarfs-other-improvements-with-defense/
Here's one quote from the article:

"Rose has allowed just 0.77 points per possession overall on defense this season, an elite mark for any defender, regardless of position. Chris Paul (0.86 points per possession allowed), Rajon Rondo (0.83 PPP allowed), and Russell Westbrook (0.92 PPP allowed)"

Please improve Gerald Henderson's jump shooting and rebounding and blocking skills.

Rashidi said...

Went through 17 teams yesterday, the rest will be done today and tomorrow. After that I will probably fix some playbooks as they are starting to get pretty outdated.

IMO next year we should be assigning plays to specific players, not positions. For example, all of Amare's plays belong to "Starting PF", but now that Amare is starting at center, in online games he is stuck with two generic post plays while Chandler gets all of Amare's P/R's.

Suns had Turkoglu at PF but now Frye is their starting PF and he's nothing like a point forward. It's annoying to change these anytime there's a lineup change so hopefully 2K gets with the program and REALLY gives their system some depth.

Shelb said...

I was thinking the same thing. Players should have plays assigned to them so moving them around in the rotation or trading them in an Association doesn't change the plays called for them.

2K released another update today. They edited 8 players: Blake Griffin (+3), Eric Gordon (+5), Baron Davis (+1), Al-Farouq Aminu (+2), Corey Maggette (-2), Joe Johnson (+1), Mike Miller (-1), and Kevin Love (+1).

Obviously this week was about legitimizing the Clippers even though the only teams they're better than in the west are the Wolves and Kings.

8 player edits in one week... I have about 80 in the same time span... just need to bang out these last 20.

Hope all is well Rashidi.

As a Cavs fan just wanted to point out that Hickson has been a new player since switching Center. He's rebounding and actually blocking a shot here and there.

Last 11 games since taking over the C spot here are his statistics:

29.5 mpg
14 ppg
1.9 bpg
12 rpg (4.4 orpg)
1 spg
1.7 spg

He's still dumb as a rock but has shown hustle and a better attitude. Word is him playing center forces him to stay closer to the basket, putting him in better position to grab boards and has limited his terrible shot selection in regards to his jumper. Given, they have no big men other than Jamison to compete for rebounds with but he had improved.

Also, Eyenga is a freak athlete and will be a good rotation player in the league.

Rashidi said...

The situation is kinda in limbo at the moment. I will probably have some edit time tomorrow which hopefully will allow me to submit an update.

Rashidi said...

Back to work, and checking out 2K's new update.

I just want to confirm that hoopdata's <10 Feet stat DOES count towards "Close shot".

Iguodala got a 15 boost in Close from 58 to 73.

<10 Feet
2010: 17-49 (34.7%)
2011: 21-33 (63.6%)

10-15 Feet
2010: 27-93 (29.0%)
2011: 9-32 (28.1%)

Iguodala has had no improvement from 10-15 Feet so it should be clear where this boost is coming from.

Rashidi said...

Also, Richard, one note on Hickson, he was Cleveland's starting center last year with Shaq on the shelf.

You no longer need a center in today's NBA. We're seeing more and more 6'8" and 6'9" players get heavy center minutes, as it's clear teams would rather have production and quickness rather than a lumbering stiff.

Kendrick Perkins and Shaquille O'Neal still have their place in today's NBA but the Celtics don't skip a beat with Glen Davis filling in the majority of the team's center minutes off the bench.
