BREAKING NEWS: NBA Elite DELAYED until 2011!

Just saw this on Operation Sports.

EA Sports' basketball is disintegrating before our eyes. I'm going to need to double my roster efforts because there is going to be a huge implosion of EA gamers into the 2K community.

EDITOR'S NOTE: This is the way "exclusivity" should be. You don't buy out the license to snuff out the competition like EA did when NFL 2K started to threaten Madden. You dominate the competition into submission.

Now it's up to 2K to not rest on their laurels, because EA will surely be back with a legit game in 2 years.

EDITOR'S NOTE #2: Didn't EA have a launch party for Elite? Wonder how much cheddar copies of a canceled game go for...

Looking for the next "Real" 2K Insider

I spent much of the summer reviewing Synergy statistics and fine-tuning my ratings and tendencies with the intent of being ready for action once NBA 2K11 came out. Re-editing all those players (and creating all the missing ones) is going to be a time-consuming task, ESPECIALLY since I intend on doing it for both 360 and PS3. Not to mention I will have to re-edit the Legacy teams, as there will be a huge demand for that.

WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR

1. A second writer for the blog team. There will surely be plenty to write about once the game drops, and I will be pre-occupied working on the roster. A user well versed in 2K's rating system, history of NBA 2K, and general NBA knowledge would be preferable. What I offer is a medium for your voice to be heard by the 2K community - as this blog has slowly grown into a legitimate source of information on the NBA 2K series (traffic has tripled since last September!)

2. Someone who is talented at CAP designs. Rather than spend time creating all the missing players (they will be vast in number), it would be much more preferable if I gave my ratings/tendencies to a partner to implement into their CAPs, and then uploading them to 2K Share for me to download into the roster upon their completion. Player appearances have never been my forte, because I am always far more concerned with the gameplay and data than whether Timofey Mozgov's cheekbones look right. Seeing as how I'd be doing this for two systems, I would need two different users for this task.

If you are interested in helping out, or have any further suggestions, shoot an email to thereal2kinsider@gmail.com

Thank you in advance,

Rashidi

NBA 2K11 Player Ratings (Final) w/ Jordan Team Ratings!

This is the complete list of player ratings with the exception of the entire free agent list (only have the top 6, and at this point I'd sooner jump off a bridge than type it up anyway). I also compiled the ratings for the Jordan mode teams. Most of these teams only have the top 5-6 players, and beyond that are filled with 50s rated generics (which is disappointing, but completely expected given 2K's track record). Jordan teams were not listed in the position rankings which can be found below all of that.

There are a majillion Michael Jordan's in this game... but the absence of Charles Barkley and the 92-93 Suns really sticks out like a sore thumb. I hope Charles comes around on his video game stance one of these days...

NBA 2K11 Rating Changes

This is what 2K was able to accomplish in 3 months.

I spent 6 weeks of my summer meticulously breaking down Synergy data. 2K looks like they spent about 2 hours raising On-Ball Defense for all players and tanking Ball Handling for all PF/C.

I'm a freelance editor with a hobby. 2K is a major company with a multi-million dollar sports franchise.

Embarrassing, to say the least.

John Wall's Official NBA 2K11 Ratings

With the release of the NBA 2K11 ratings, as well as news that rookie Michael Jordan would only be 79 overall, there was quite a bit of backlash when fans found out #1 pick John Wall would enter the game with an 81 rating.

I have acquired Wall's detailed ratings, and you may now critique away.

An excerpt from the experts @ Draft Express

The most glaring weakness we can recognize revolves around his ability to operate in the half-court. According to the data we have at our disposal, Wall’s field goal percentage in transition situations sits at an amazing 77%. Once he’s forced to play in the half-court, though, his field goal percentage plummets to just 40%. Similarly, he’s been able to draw fouls in the half-court on just 10% of his possessions, as opposed to 27% in transition.

Wall’s ball-handling skills in tight spaces are currently not up to par with his amazing athleticism. His ability to change speeds and directions when creating his own shot out of a stand-still position is just average right now, as he tends to struggle if he can’t just blow by his defender purely with his first step. He overwhelmingly favors driving left (doing so in 71% of his possessions), and is mostly relegated to either passing or pulling up off the dribble if forced to drove right.

Because he’s a far better slasher at this point than he is a shooter, defenses tend to sag off him and force him to beat them with his still-erratic pull-up jumper. He’s been showing major improvement with it as the year’s moved on, though, so it will be interesting to see how he progresses in this area.

Due to Wall’s struggles and those of his teammates in the half-court, he is exceedingly turnover prone, ranking fourth amongst all draft prospects in turnovers per-40 minutes pace adjusted, at 5.2. He’s forced to carry an awfully big share of Kentucky’s offense—27.2% to be exact—and it’s clear his decision making skills still need work, something that will likely come in time with experience.

I believe it goes without saying that Wall's ball handling abilities were badly overrated. A 10-point drop in Ball Handle and Off-Hand Dribbling would reduce his rating by 2 points right off the bat.

The other concern I have (that DX doesn't mention) is defense. Wall might be good at getting steals and blocks but he is HARDLY a lockdown perimeter defender. He is an athletic 19 year old.

Defensive Awareness
82 Kevin Garnett
80 Kevin Durant
77 John Wall
76 Paul Pierce
75 Stephen Jackson

As a basketball junky who crunches numbers extensively, it is a bit infuriating to me that 2K actually thought John Wall's defensive intellect was only 5 points worse than a player two seasons removed from Defensive Player of the Year (Kevin Garnett), or that a "grizzled" teenager knows more about defense than veterans like Paul Pierce and Stephen Jackson. Get real, 2K Sports.

On-Ball Defense
90 Rajon Rondo
89 Kobe Bryant
85 LeBron James
84 John Wall
83 Andre Iguodala

Apparently, 2K thinks Wall at 19 years of age is on the cusp of an all-defensive team. We haven't even looked up any defensive metrics or references and these already don't pass the laugh test.

John Wall is going to be a great player, and could even be the best PG in the league given time. The point however, is that he's not there yet - he's not even top 10 until he shows us otherwise. Point guard is the deepest position in the entire league, and it is extremely unlikely that Wall will be an elite player right off the bat.

NBA 2K11 Player Ratings (Starting Lineups)

2K Sports is being very secretive with their ratings this year, and thus far have only been willing to release the starting lineup overalls to 2khoops.net

Ultimately, this list is extremely disappointing as it seems 2K could only be bothered to edit about 5-10% of the league despite a 3 month gap between the last roster and a significant amount of OBVIOUS work that needed to be done.

Btw, this confirms that the list I compiled from the league website was accurate - sorry naysayers.

Here is their list, and I've added in the difference from where that player was at the end of 2K10.

Chris Paul 95 (0)

Trevor Ariza 79 (+1)
David West 75 (0)
Emeka Okafor 77 (-1)

That's the list. A grand total of 10 players had their overall rating change by more than 1 point. It makes me think that all the players who went up or down only 1 point did so because they added a new rating, not because they actually sat down and edited those players (or changed the rating scale for an existing one).

NBA 2K11 Player Ratings (Partial List)

These ratings were acquired by surfing 2K Sports' league website for NBA 2K11, which you can do here.

There are ratings for 12 teams, and I've created lists by team, and by position.

What do you guys think of the job 2K did this summer? Who is over/underrated?

Rashidi's 95-96 Chicago Bulls

Given that this team is sure to appear in NBA 2K11, I figured I'd get a head start on creating them. I took a look around 2K Share and was ultimately unsatisfied with the ratings of the 96 Bulls floating around. Not going to name names, but the top rated file on 2K Share has most of the backups with really unrealistic ratings.

Here's the job I did after about 2 days of editing. They're not necessarily perfect, but they're pretty darn good in my estimation, and also jive with the Synergy work I put in last month.

Bulls (90.5) - 82 Offense, 99 Defense, 90 Overall
95 – Michael Jordan (SG/SF)
89 – Scottie Pippen (SF/PG)
78 – Toni Kukoc (SF/PF)
77 – Dennis Rodman (PF/C)
74 – Luc Longley (C)
68 – Ron Harper (PG/SG) - 72 overall at SG
65 – Steve Kerr (PG) - 67 overall at SG
65 – Jud Buechler (SG/SF)
64 – Bill Wennington (C)
64 – John Salley (C/PF)
64 – Dickey Simpkins (PF)
63 – Jason Caffey (PF)
62 – Randy Brown (PG)
61 – Jack Haley (C/PF)
55 – James Edwards (C)

This team will be found in my most recent Synergy file on 360's 2K Share. Unfortunately, I can't update the main one (for whatever reason, 2K won't allow me to replace whichever file is my highest rated when I upload).

Now, it's time for the video game moment you've all been waiting for... the epic battle between the 1996 Bulls and the 2011 Heat.

GAME SUMMARY
The Heat prevailed 109-103, although I'm extremely annoyed that the game called multiple backcourt violations on Chicago on inbounds plays (there is no backcourt on an inbound 2K!), which affected the final score. Still, I've been saying for awhile that the Heat are very similar to the Bulls given their star-studded perimeter, collection of 3pt shooters, and random stiffs down low.

HEAT STATS
James: 34-5-7-3-0 (15-25 FG, 3-6 3PT, 1-1 FT), 41 mins
Wade: 16-3-3-2-0 (7-14 FG, 1-3 3PT, 1-1 FT), 5 TO, 4 fouls, 36 mins
Bosh: 15-14-3-3-0 (6-12 FG, 3-3 FT), 36 mins
Miller: 14-3-1-1-0 (6-10 FG, 1-4 3PT, 1-2 FT), 26 mins
Chalmers: 4-1-5-0-0 (1-5 FG, 0-2 3PT, 2-2 FT), 5 fouls, 22 mins

BULLS STATS
Jordan: 31-7-3-4-0 (13-21 FG, 2-4 3PT, 3-3 FT), 43 mins
Kukoc: 23-3-0-1-0 (10-14 FG, 3-3 3PT), 26 mins
Harper: 10-2-9-2-0 (4-8 FG, 1-1 3PT, 1-1 FT), 33 mins
Pippen: 10-4-1-0-1 (5-20 FG, 0-3 3PT, 0-1 FT), 36 mins
Rodman: 8-10-3-0-0 (4-6 FG), 4 TO, 3 fouls, 35 mins

LeBron and Jordan were neck and neck, while Pippen came up with a big stinker in this matchup. Kukoc played extremely well but it wasn't enough to combat Wade/Bosh/Miller.

Lakers vs Heat: Rashidi's NBA 2K11 Playoff Sim

DISCLAIMER: NBA 2K11 is not out yet. This is done on 2K10 with my advanced ratings that will be uploaded into 2K11 when it actually comes out.

I simulated an NBA playoffs based on my ratings and predictably got a Heat/Lakers NBA Finals.

Here's the box from each game.

GAME 1

LAKERS 104
Odom: 19-12-3-0-1 (8-11 FG, 1-1 3PT, 2-2 FT), 1 TO, 27 mins
Artest: 19-3-1-2-0 (7-10 FG, 3-4 3PT, 2-3 FT), 2 TO, 31 mins
Bryant: 18-4-10-2-0 (5-18 FG, 3-7 3PT, 5-7 FT), 3 TO, 37 mins
Bynum: 11-10-2-0-0 (5-9 FG, 0-0 3PT, 1-1 FT), 5 TO, 28 mins
Gasol: 7-7-0-0-1 (3-8 FG, 0-0 3PT, 1-1 FT), 2 TO, 21 mins, 4 fouls

HEAT 99
Wade: 27-0-4-1-3 (10-16 FG, 3-6 3PT, 4-8 FT), 3 TO, 37 mins
Miller: 17-3-1-0-1 (4-6 FG, 1-1 3PT, 8-9 FT), 1 TO, 22 mins
James: 15-4-8-3-4 (5-16 FG, 1-6 3PT, 4-6 FT), 2 TO, 36 mins
Bosh: 13-9-0-0-0 (4-13 FG, 0-1 3PT, 5-6 FT), 0 TO, 36 mins
Chalmers: 9-1-6-4-0 (4-8 FG, 1-2 3PT, 0-0 FT), 1 TO, 27 mins

Gasol got into foul trouble, and Kobe struggled with his shot, but he set up his teammates and the Lakers were unexpectedly pushed by Artest/Odom to victory. Miami had a solid showing from Wade, but LeBron and Bosh shot the ball poorly against the Lakers' defense. LA won the 3rd quarter 41-23.

GAME 2

HEAT 102
Wade: 27-2-4-1-2 (7-15 FG. 1-3 3PT, 12-14 FT), 1 TO, 32 mins, 5 fouls
James: 25-4-9-2-1 (8-13 FG, 3-4 3PT, 6-6 FT), 4 TO, 38 mins
Bosh: 16-10-0-0-1 (8-19 FG, 0-1 3PT, 0-0 FT), 4 TO, 37 mins
Ilgauskas: 7-9-0-0-2 (3-5 FG, 0-0 3PT, 1-1 FT), 2 TO, 19 mins
Chalmers: 5-0-7-4-0 (2-5 FG, 0-2 PT, 1-1 FT), 4 TO, 27 mins

LAKERS 78
Odom: 24-5-2-2-1 (6-9 FG, 3-3 3PT, 9-10 FT), 2 TO, 30 mins, 5 fouls
Bynum: 15-8-2-0-0 (4-6 FG, 0-0 3PT, 7-7 FT), 1 TO, 20 mins, 4 fouls
Gasol: 11-11-3-0-2 (4-9 FG, 0-0 3PT, 3-3 FT), 2 TO, 38 mins, 4 fouls
Bryant: 11-1-4-2-0 (4-12 FG, 0-3 3PT, 3-5 FT), 6 TO, 31 mins, 5 fouls
Artest: 5-1-1-4-2 (2-5 FG, 1-4 3PT, 0-0 FT), 2 TO, 31 mins

The three kings were clicking on all cylinders, and LA was throughly embarrassed, losing the second quarter 28-9 after already losing the first quarter 31-21. Kobe shot the ball poorly again, but this time was a turnover machine instead of an effective distributor. Odom played very well again, this time filling in for foul plagued Bynum.

GAME 3

LAKERS 118
Bryant: 31-5-8-1-1 (12-24 FG, 2-10 3PT, 5-9 FT), 1 TO, 36 mins
Gasol: 28-12-4-1-2 (10-13 FG, 0-0 3PT, 8-9 FT), 1 TO, 37 mins
Odom: 15-14-6-1-0 (6-8 FG, 1-2 3PT, 2-2 FT), 0 TO, 29 mins
Artest: 13-2-1-5-0 (3-6 FG, 1-2 3PT, 6-6 FT), 3 TO, 31 mins
Bynum: 4-2-1-0-1 (2-8 FG, 0-0 3PT, 0-0 FT), 2 TO, 19 mins, 5 fouls

HEAT 82
Wade: 27-4-3-1-0 (10-21 FG, 1-4 3PT, 6-7 FT), 3 TO, 37 mins
Bosh: 23-4-1-0-0 (9-15 FG, 0-1 3PT, 5-6 FT), 2 TO, 36 mins
James: 8-7-5-1-0 (3-12 FG, 0-3 3PT, 2-2 FT), 3 TO, 28 mins
Miller: 8-4-0-0-0 (3-5 FG, 0-1 3PT, 2-3 FT), 3 TO, 25 mins
Ilgauskas: 6-9-0-0-2 (3-4 FG, 0-0 3PT, 0-0 FT), 1 TO, 17 mins

It was LA's turn to drop the beat on Miami, as Kobe and Gasol finally got their due. Lamar Odom is having a series for the ages, as he continues to effectively fill in for Gasol/Bynum whenever they get into foul trouble trying to stop Miami's drive game. LA lead this 38-17 after the 1st, and 62-32 at the half, ultimately winning by 36. LeBron James is clearly having great difficulty with Ron Artest and will need to pick it up if Miami is going to comeback from a 2-1 deficit.

GAME 4

LAKERS 103
Bryant: 33-5-0-1-0 (13-19 FG, 4-6 3PT, 3-5 FT), 6 TO, 37 mins
Blake: 16-2-3-0-0 (5-7 FG, 4-6 3PT, 2-2 FT), 1 TO, 21 mins
Gasol: 12-15-3-0-2 (4-7 FG, 0-0 3PT, 4-6 FT), 1 TO, 37 mins
Brown: 10-3-0-0-0 (3-4 FG, 2-3 3PT, 2-7 FT), 1 TO, 10 mins
Bynum: 6-6-0-1-2 (2-5 FG, 0-0 3PT, 2-6 FT), 2 TO, 29 mins

HEAT 99
James: 34-8-5-3-0 (14-28 FG, 3-6 3PT, 3-4 FT), 1 TO, 36 mins
Wade: 20-3-6-3-1 (7-16 FG, 4-7 3PT, 2-4 FT), 1 TO, 37 mins
Bosh: 20-10-1-0-3-2 (5-9 FG, 0-0 3PT, 10-10 FT), 2 TO, 37 mins
Miller: 7-4-3-0-0 (2-7 FG, 1-3 3PT, 2-2 FT), 0 TO, 23 mins
Chalmers: 5-2-4-4-0 (2-4 FG, 1-3 3PT, 0-0 FT), 2 TO, 27 mins

Odom and Artest fell back down to earth, but the bench came through with some inspiring play from Blake and Brown in the backcourt. The three kings played about as well as you could expect and they still lost. This doesn't bode well for the team with the Lakers now leading the series 3-1.

GAME 5

HEAT 101
Bosh: 25-13-0-0-1 (7-16 FG, 1-2 3PT, 10-14 FT), 1 TO, 35 mins
James: 24-11-7-3-3 (8-16 FG, 1-3 3PT, 7-7 FT), 0 TO, 38 mins
Wade: 17-3-5-5-1 (6-13 FG, 1-3 3PT, 4-4 FT), 4 TO, 36 mins
Ilgauskas: 7-2-0-0-2-0 (2-7 FG, 0-0 3PT, 3-4 FT), 0 TO, 15 mins
Miller: 6-3-3-1-0-0 (2-3 FG, 2-3 3PT, 0-2 FT), 0 TO, 23 mins

LAKERS 83
Bryant: 18-4-5-0-0 (7-18 FG, 2-6 3PT, 2-2 FT), 8 TO, 36 mins
Artest: 17-2-0-3-0 (6-10 FG, 3-3 3PT, 2-2 FT), 2 TO, 31 mins
Fisher: 11-0-0-0-0 (4-9 FG, 3-5 3PT, 0-0 FT), 2 TO, 25 mins
Bynum: 10-7-3-1-2 (4-10 FG, 0-0 3PT, 2-2 FT), 2 TO, 31 mins, 4 fouls
Gasol: 7-9-0-0-2 (3-6 FG, 0-0 3PT, 1-2 FT), 0 TO, 18 mins, 4 fouls
Odom: 7-9-3-0-2 (3-9 FG, 0-0 3PT, 1-2 FT), 1 TO, 29 mins, 4 fouls
Barnes: 5-10-2-0-0 (2-6 FG, 0-0 3PT, 1-2 FT), 1 TO, 23 mins, 5 fouls

The Heat staved off elimination with big double-doubles from Bosh and LeBron. Kobe was a turnover machine once again, thanks in part to Wade's defense (5 steals). Gasol was in foul trouble all game thanks to Bosh/LeBron, and even Matt Barnes got some extended run due to all the fouls. Miami put the game away with a 51-35 second half, but still trail the series 3-2.

GAME 6

HEAT 91
James: 28-10-5-2-1 (9-19 FG, 1-6 3PT, 9-10 FT), 3 TO, 37 mins
Wade: 23-5-8-4-4 (5-13 FG, 0-1 3PT, 13-13 FT), 3 TO, 36 mins
Bosh: 17-15-0-1-0 (6-11 FG, 0-0 FT, 5-6 FT), 2 TO, 32 mins
Miller: 7-5-1-0-0 (2-4 FG, 0-1 3PT, 3-4 FT), 0 TO, 24 mins
Haslem: 4-5-0-0-0 (2-9 FG, 0-0 3PT, 0-0 FT), 1 TO, 24 mins

LAKERS 71
Fisher: 14-1-0-1-0 (3-6 FG, 1-3 3PT, 7-9 FT), 4 TO, 25 mins
Gasol: 12-7-2-0-1 (4-11 FG, 0-0 3PT, 4-5 FT), 3 TO, 33 mins
Artest: 10-4-2-0-0 (3-5 FG, 0-1 3PT, 4-4 FT), 1 TO, 30 mins
Odom: 9-10-0-0-1 (4-11 FG, 0-3 3PT, 1-1 FT), 2 TO, 28 mins
Bryant: 7-1-2-1-0 (3-12 FG, 0-2 3PT, 101 FT), 6 TO, 28 mins, 5 fouls

Miami is simply killing it from the line, and Wade's defense on Kobe has been truly marvelous this series (posting a 4x5 tonight), and Kobe pretty much had the worst playoff game of his entire life, shooting poorly, and totaling more turnovers and fouls (11) than points, rebounds, and assists (10). The Heat just became the first team in Finals history to come back from a 3-1 deficit and send the series to game 7.

GAME 7

LAKERS 121
Bryant: 45-2-3-2-0 (16-24 FG, 0-1 3PT, 13-19 FT), 1 TO, 37 mins
Gasol: 22-6-0-0-3 (9-14 FG, 0-0 3PT, 4-4 FT), 1 TO, 34 mins, 5 fouls
Bynum: 13-11-0-0-0 (5-14 FG, 0-0 3PT, 3-4 FT), 3 TO, 30 mins
Odom: 11-12-7-0-2 (4-4 FG, 0-0 3PT, 3-3 FT), 0 TO, 28 mins
Blake: 8-0-6-0-0 (1-6 FG, 1-5 3PT, 5-6 FT),
Barnes: 6-3-0-0-0 (2-3 FG, 2-2 3PT, 0-0 FT), 0 TO, 25 mins
Fisher: 5-1-0-1-0 (2-5 FG, 1-4 3PT, 0-0 FT), 3 TO, 27 mins
Artest: 3-1-1-0-0 (1-4 FG, 0-0 3PT, 1-2 FT), 5 TO, 31 mins

HEAT 116
James: 33-5-7-3-2 (12-19 FG, 2-5 3PT, 7-8 FT), 5 TO, 36 mins, 4 fouls
Wade: 30-2-9-2-2 (13-26 FG, 3-6 3PT, 1-3 FT), 2 TO, 36 mins, 4 fouls
Bosh: 21-9-0-0-2 (9-14 FG, 0-2 3PT, 3-4 FG), 2 TO, 33 mins, 5 fouls
Ilgauskas: 9-5-0-0-0 (4-7 FG, 1-1 3PT, 0-3 FT), 2 TO, 23 mins
Arroyo: 7-1-3-0-0 (3-5 FG, 0-0 3PT, 1-1 FT), 1 TO, 14 mins
Chalmers: 5-2-5-3-0 (2-8 FG, 0-2 3PT, 1-1 FT), 0 TO, 27 mins
Haslem: 4-4-0-0-0 (1-1 FG, 0-0 3PT, 2-3 FT), 1 TO, 11 mins, 6 fouls
Anthony: 3-4-0-0-1 (1-1 FG, 0- 3PT, 1-2 FT), 0 TO, 20 mins, 6 fouls

This game fittingly went into overtime, and Kobe rebounded from his disastrous game 6 to post one of the greatest Game 7 Finals performances of all-time. LeBron and Wade on the other side dispensed their own brand of pain, both going off for 30+ points. In the end, Kobe prevailed by simply toying with Udonis Haslem, and forcing deep reserves Juwan Howard, James Jones, and Eddie House onto the court, where they proceeded to kill the Heat's chances (Miami was -11 w/ Jones on the court, and -14 with Howard/House out there (the three combined for 2 points on 0-5 FG in 41 minutes).

If real life goes anything like this, you can bet MBA fans will be pleased worldwide. For those wondering how the Heat and Lakers even got to the Finals...

FIRST ROUND
Heat defeat Sixers in 5 games. Sixers won game 1 but didn't stand a chance the rest of the series.
Lakers defeat Rockets in 7 games. Kobe had 37 in game 7 while Gasol had 19/16.

SECOND ROUND
Heat sweep the Hawks in dominant fashion. Wade dropped 52 points in game 2 on 20-24 FG, 5-6 3PT, 7-9 FT. Game 4 saw Josh Smith and Mike Bibby foul out in a short period of time (23 and 21 mins respectively)
Lakers defeat Thunder in 7 games. Kobe again had 37 in game 7, while Kevin Durant finished with 41 in this epic duel.

CONFERENCE FINALS
Heat defeat Magic in 7 games. Miami finally gets a tough matchup, as Dwight Howard is one of the few players that can expose Miami offensively while also defending them without getting into foul trouble. Rashard Lewis shot 1-12 in game 7 and the Heat escaped with a 1 point win (I can actually see this happening).
Lakers defeat Blazers in 5 games. Lakers finally play an easy series, highlighted by a 51 point win in game 2 (120-69). Roy had 5 fouls in 5 minutes. 2K could really stand to fix their sim engine.

In retrospect, I wish I'd tightened rotations a bit to reflect the playoffs (Big three and Kobe all likely averaging 40 mpg), as these were done with regular season rotation projections. At the least it would have created slightly gaudier numbers for the stars, and perhaps even affected the series outcome. That said, I am thoroughly content with the results. The best two teams in each conference made the Finals and battled to the death. It also exposed a major element teams are going to have to deal with to combat the Heat - foul trouble. The Lakers have the frontcourt depth needed to withstand Miami's paint onslaught, but most teams will not.
