NBA 2K13 Roster Analysis 2/2/13

Dear 2K Insider,

I know that you read my blog, else you wouldn't have bothered to injure the likes ofTornike Shengelia.  If you are going to read my blog, I would suggest you make ALL of the changes I point out, not half of them.  You'll have a better product, and I won't have to write these artic...  Oh.  Nevermind, I get it.  You actually WANT someone to put the work and research in for you.  In that case, enjoy your once a week checkup.

Thanks anyway,

Brandan Knight is 76 Overall (+3) due to position change to SG (no rating changes).

Darren Collison
Darren Collison
76 Overall (0)
84 3pt (+4)

Inside: 99-152 (65.1%
Close: 40-116 (34.4%)
Med: 42-93 (45.2%)
3pt: 31-75 (41.3%)

Inside: 90-159 (56.6%)
Close: 65-168 (38.6%)
Med: 73-161 (45.3%)
3pt: 38-105 (36.2%)

This is the definition of a bare-minimum update.  Collison is having a much better season in Dallas than he did with the Pacers, improving his FG% by 45 points and doubling his steal rate.

Earl Clark
Earl Clark
68 Overall (+1)
74 3pt (+11)
73 FT (-2)

Inside: 35-57 (61.4%)
Close: 10-30 (33.3%)
Med: 16-41 (39.0%)
3pt: 14-28 (50.0%)

Inside: 32-57 (56.1%)
Close: 13-44 (29.5%)
Med: 14-56 (25.0%)
3pt: 0-0 (N/A)

Clark has already been edited twice in the past month and this one was solely to make him capable of hitting threes, something he obviously can do.  Expect continued edits for Clark going forward, and very few for any non-Laker role players.

Tayshaun Prince (76/SF) - Grizzlies (from Pistons)
Ed Davis (71/PF) - Grizzlies (from Raptors)
Austin Daye (63/SF) Grizzlies (from Pistons)
Josh Harrellson (54/C) - Free Agents (from Heat)
Jose Calderon (75/PG) - Pistons (from Raptors)
Rudy Gay (86/SF) - Raptors (from Grizzlies)
Hamed Haddadi (49/C) - Raptors (from Grizzlies)

LOL how did 2K waive Josh Harrellson but not take care of the other players!?  Sad.  Sloppy.

Maalik Wayns (63/PG) - 76ers (10-day contract expired, team opted to sign Shelvin Mack instead)
Donald Sloan (63/PG) - Hornets (10-day contract expired, team did not re-sign)
Damion James (70/SF) - Nets (10-day contract expired, team did not re-sign)
Dominic McGuire (66/SF) - Pacers (10-day contract expired, team opted to sign Sam Young instead)
Shelvin Mack (65/PG) - Free Agents (Was signed to 10-day contract on 1/17, four rosters ago)

No new players were added.

Kevin Jones (PF) - Cavaliers (16 games, 9.8 mpg)
Chris Johnson (SG/SF) - Grizzlies (5 games, 18.4 mpg)
Jarvis Varnado (PF) - Heat (7 games, 4.3 mpg)
Kevin Murphy (SG) - Jazz (8 games, 3.6 mpg)
Mike James (PG) - Mavericks (11 games, 9.6 mpg, played 539 games prior to this season)
Julyan Stone (PG/SG) - Nuggets (2 games, 5.5 mpg, played 22 games prior to this season)
Ben Hansbrough (PG/SG) - Pacers (17 games, 8.1 mpg)
Patrick Beverley (PG) - Rockets (9 games, 11.1 mpg)
Aron Baynes (C) - Spurs (2 games, 9.5 mpg)
Diante Garrett (SG) - Suns (6 games, 5.0 mpg)
Mickael Gelabale (SF) Timberwolves (7 games, 18.9 mpg)
Chris Johnson (C/PF) - Timberwolves (6 games, 16.2 mpg, played 41 games prior to this season)
Kent Bazemore (SG/SF) - Warriors (31 games, 3.5 mpg)

Mike James and Jarvis Varnado were signed for the rest of the season. James has been in previous 2K games and his re-addition to the game should not be particularly difficult.

Patrick Beverley quickly supplanted Toney Douglas as the Rockets backup PG, and needs to be added to the game.  IIRC correctly, he was previously in an NBA 2K game despite not playing until this year, which should make his addition easier.

Mickael Gelabale and Chris Johnson have played extremely well for Minnesota, garnering a ton of minutes (for 10-day contract players) due to injuries.   Both need to be added, however 2K will likely only add one as the Wolves have 16 players on the roster with a game max of 15.  In my roster I simply released Brandon Roy, who is likely to retire.

Jason Richardson (74/SG) 76ers
Glen Davis (73/PF) Magic
Chris Kaman (76/C) Mavericks
Tornike Shengelia (56/SF) Nets
Mickael Pietrus (72/SF) Raptors
Linas Kleiza (64/SF) Raptors

Anthony Morrow (66/SG) Hawks
Hedo Turkoglu (72/SF) Magic
Nikola Pekovic (76/C) Timberwolves
Alexey Shved (71/SG) Timberwolves

Jared Sullinger (71/PF) Celtics -  News broke yesterday that Sullinger will have back surgery and miss the rest of the season.
Corey Maggette (75/SF) Pistons - Sprained ankle and has not played since 12/15.  Even if technically healthy, there is no reason for him to be on Pistons active roster.
Royce White (68/PF) Rockets -  Not making D-League debut until 2/11. NBA still ways away.

Sam Young (68/SF) Pacers - Young wouldn't have been signed if he were still hurt.  He played 11 minutes last night.
Jonas Valanciunas (68/C) Raptors - Returned and played 13 minutes last night.

OUT FOR SEASON (8 total)
Rajon Rondo (89/PG) - Celtics
Anderson Varejao (76/C) - Cavaliers
Louis Williams (78/SG) - Hawks
Jordan Hill (70/C) - Lakers
Glen Davis (73/PF) - Magic
Channing Frye (67/PF - Suns
Elliot Williams (66/SG) - Trail Blazers
Brandon Rush (71/SG) - Warriors

2K Sports continues to leave the Hawks and Knicks lineups incorrect while fixing all the other ones I post....  although in the Magic's case, 2K never actually fixed them as they never started Glen Davis when he was healthy and he just got hurt again.

Jeff Teague (PG), Kyle Korver (SG), Josh Smith (SF), Al Horford (PF)Zaza Pachulia (C)
Devin Harris has been starting at SG, moving Pachulia to the bench and everyone back to their natural spots.  2K also has DeShawn Stevenson on the inactive list for no reason whatsoever - Stevenson logged 29 minutes in his last game on 1/27.

Raymond Felton (PG), Iman Shumpert (SG), Carmelo Anthony (SF), Amare Stoudemire (PF), Tyson Chandler (C)
Since Felton returned from injury, Jason Kidd has been starting at SG, pushing Shump to SF and Melo to PF.  Amare Stoudemire has yet to start a single game since returning one month ago on 1/1.

2K really needs to improve their roster updates. It's unacceptable to continuously have these bad lineups and incorrect injuries for players. It's bad enough most of their player ratings are terrible, but to have all this easily, nonobjective stuff wrong is just lazy.

what are the specific attributes changes for collison and clark?

Amir Johnson also had his position changed.
