In 2K Sports point guard formula, they typically place too much value on defense and not enough value on scoring ability, which is how players like Rondo and Jrue Holiday can rate so highly above Tony Parker who was CLEARLY a top three PG last season.

Shooting guard ratings are basically all over the place. 2K puts a high emphasis on ball-handling in order to pump up the values of superstar SGs. What that creates is an uneven playing field among role players, where teams value players who bring defense and 3pt shooting like Courtney Lee, Danny Green, and Thabo Sefolosha over inefficient volume scorers like Jordan Crawford, Shannon Brown, or ugh, Austin Rivers.

As with the SG position, "3 and D" players generally get the shaft at small forward, even though the league is shifting in that direction more than ever. SFs in general are the highest rated players in NBA 2K since they are generally well-rounded.

It looks like most stretch-fours get the shaft again, getting decreased even further than they already were. I speculate it relates to increased importance of the block rating, as David Lee and Paul Millsap also take some hits. Among the top PFs just about everyone went down while only shot blocking Derrick Favors went up.

Fluctuation in free agent center ratings seem to suggest that block rating is more important than ever for a center's overall rating. Post up game sadly matters a great deal even though that responsibility is shifting to other positions (Tyson Chandler was an all-star and only posted up 19 times last season).

Thank you Rashidi for this news.
About Paul George I hope 2K have increase also ball handling and pass; he made 5 assist per game last year, for a SF is great).
Is true that he isn’t yet an offensive superstar weapon, but last year the go to guy was Granger for the entire preseason and PG did not prepare to increase his offensive awarness.
This preseason George still working hard in iso, midrange jumpshot, and offensive situation… we’ll see if he step into a offensive breakout season.
He defend, he pass, he create, he make point… 88 maybe is a little overrated, but not so much.
I’m Italian, I hope Iexlained it well
paul George is definitely too highly rated. I'm curious to see if paul pierce is still relevant in the forward game at this age. after all, he is one of only three players last season to average 18, 6, 4. that being lebron, Durant, and pierce
And in playoff
19.2 - 7.5 - 5.1
I really don't know if thabo sefolosha deserve a 3 pt icon..
Why is Brook Lopez getting no love? He posted the best PER out of all the centers last year. He's a first time all star. He steadily improved his scoring, rebounding, and shot blocking, and has potential to go 20-10-2 in those categories. And, for basically the first time, he had a relatively healthy season. Yet he's the 9th best center? Are you serious?
Gallinari ten points behind Rudy Gay? 9 behind Andre Iguodala (there's a whole 2013 season that says otherwise)? 6 points behind Tyreke Evans? 5 points behind Wilson freakin Chandler? Behind Butler, Green, Ariza, Kidd-Glichrist, Kirilenko? I mean, really?
Andre Drummond is projected to be one of the best shot-blockers in the league, his rating should be at least mid to upper 70's
Dirk Nowitski still not getting no love in the ratings. He should be mid to upper 80's
Drummond is the next Shaq. Why he is so underrated ?
how come jlin at 76 and beverly at 73 while aaron brooks is at 77? lin is the starting pg and beverly is the backup but why is aaron at 77?! he barely plays for the team plus he is 3rd pg for the rockets. i know he was the face of the franchise at one point but c'mon its all about the present. he should be at least 65-70.
Gordon Hayward got hosed ... wow...
@Early Vincent Tanglao:
Sefolosha has been shooting over 40% from three for the last two years. He is an awesome shooter!
Tony Parker underrated as usual, he should have 89, Manu Ginobili getting 86 is crazy, same as Stephen Jackson still at 79, no way he's better than Batum, Gallinari, Kirilenko. Howard is a joke, no way he's 10 points over Noah, Gasol, Hibbert. Overall i'm disapointed by those ratings
Valanciunas got robbed badly, 7pts 7rebs 1blk scoring 60% in 20 mins, paul george played good in the playoffs but a bit overrated, what i saw in 2013 was west being the best player on the team, same with hibbert, can be dominant but...wasn't, tony parker second best player in the finals after lebron, but not just in the finals...zach randolph one of the best pf in the league in the last 3 postseasons, no love once again, ah, kevin love, one good season without a single playoffs trip and his stats are up like crazy, reminds me of jrue holiday with just some playoffs games more
how come jlin at 76 and beverly at 73 while aaron brooks is at 77? lin is the starting pg and beverly is the backup but why is aaron at 77?! he barely plays for the team plus he is 3rd pg for the rockets. i know he was the face of the franchise at one point but c'mon its all about the present. he should be at least 65-70.
Why is Noah a 82? Boozer 78? They improved from last season so they should have better ratings than last season. And Dwight is not a good player to me. He should be just 89-90. Lebron . Wtf? Michael carter Williams a 61? Fucked up.

First of all, I think that Chris Paul should have been bumped up, not DOWN. 95, at least. You see him dropping 40, 15, and 5? Yeah. D-Rose, might be subject to be bumped down. Nate Robinson was like a forest fire, with how hot he was in the playoffs, against the Nets, without D-Rose. Yet, he's bumped to a 81, istead of 83. 85, please. Brandon Jennings needs to be bumped up, and Chauncey is NOT better than
Rubio. Rubio is a pure 85, at least. Chauncey needs to switch with Goran Dragic. MCW, at 61?! Are you kidding me? 75 would be expected, but 61?! Also, Norris Cole got bumped down by 6. Now a 67. WaT?!? Don't you mean 73 again?Victor Olapido should be an 80 instead of 76, and Kobe got bumped down 2, why? He should be at 96! Why did they have to do that to Klay? Why is he a 73? I say 79. I feel sorry for the stupid idiot that put Fournier at 66. He should at least be 70.KD should be at 96, Melo should be at 94, Gallo? Wut? 76 my butt. Gallo should be at 83. Beasley and Chandler should go up. Now.How dare they put Gordon Hayward at 69. 79. Final answer. Love, and Aldridge should be at 88, Lee, Millsap, Randolph, Gasol, and Thaddeus Young should all be at 84's or higher. Lopez, Drummond, Okafor, and Oden Should all be higher. That's all I got.
The only one I really think need changed is Demarcus Cousins. He should be High 80s.
I don't understand Derrick Rose's rating. I get that he was really good before he was injured, but, he hasn't played for over a year in a NBA game. Give him at the least a 85 and let players develop his ratings as they play in association mode.
Tony Parker DOES NOT... DOES DEFINITELY NOT... deserve a 87 rating. Tony Parker is AT LEAST a 90. This is Parker's stat line from last year championship run: 20.3 PPG, 52.2% FG, 35.3% 3FG, 7.6 AST, 3 REB, 84.5 FT, 23.1 PER...
Everything else is alright as far as I've seen. If we are going to be giving players injury excuses, Amare Stoudemire (however you spell it) deserves at least a 85.
Ok, first of all there is no way that Russell Westbrook deserves a 92 if chris paul has a 93, thats just obsurd. Westrbrook is worth no more than an 88 MAX. How in the world are you going to rate westbrook better than Carmelo Anthony??? Thats another thing, if Lebron is a 99, then Durant deserves atleast 96-97 and Melo deserves NOTHING less than a 95. Last season hscored 28.1 ppg which was only .7 less than durant, he shoots over 42% from the three and is an offensive beast, so yeah. Oh and Clay thompson should be atleast a 79-80
You have Melo rating wrong it should be at a 25. LOL U SUCK MELO
This game SUCKS!!!! I will never buy another 2k game. I will stick to NCAA FOOTBALL. It is the only game that allows you to enjoy it ans is not totally controlled by the computer.
Here are a few corrections. First of all why is the rookie if the year Michael Carter Williams a 61? Westbrook 92 (that's way to high) And KD a 94? He should be the 99 not LeBron. I think LeBron is over rated and not as good as every one thinks he is. Also Paul George deserves at least an 85 to 91.
