NBA 2K11 Rating Changes

This is what 2K was able to accomplish in 3 months.

I spent 6 weeks of my summer meticulously breaking down Synergy data. 2K looks like they spent about 2 hours raising On-Ball Defense for all players and tanking Ball Handling for all PF/C.

I'm a freelance editor with a hobby. 2K is a major company with a multi-million dollar sports franchise.

Embarrassing, to say the least.

Something tells me you aren't too happy with Carmelo Anthony getting a 7 point boost on his on ball defense

Rashidi said...

I'm ecstatic about things like that.

Do big men still need the speed boost in ratings?

Rashidi said...

Most likely, but I'd like to do a quick gameplay test just to confirm.

Rashidi said...

By most likely, I mean 99% likely.

yea i thought so to.
will you edit playbooks?
one more thing, in strategy we had play tight, loose, double teams..
apparently there was an on ball added to the preset.
how do you think this will work (in theory obviously)

I probably won't edit playbooks. I actually heard there was a disadvantage to this regarding downloaded rosters.

In 2K10 you CAN play online w/ non-default rosters. The trick is you have to do it in Association/Season mode w/ the desired matchup.

However, if you edit playbooks, this will glitch and freeze. I doubt this was fixed in 2K11 given 2K's track record. I wouldn't want to take this option away from users as it highly increases the usability of the rosters if players can actually play with them online.

understood. also even i look forward to release of '11 and then the release of your first rosters.
but, try to use the most updated roster as possible.

do you see any future roster dLs released by 2k to contain anything vital like dynamic att. last year THIS year?
