Truer words were never spoken.

2K insider please stop. You have become the worst thing to ever happen to nba 2k and most people agree on this. You have no clue about what your doing and thats a fact. I rather have default ratings and just missing players added to the game so that I dont have to tone down every player you touch.

Rashidi,

I'm a avid supporter of your work, but I wish you would lower the tone of your assault against the "insider". You've well established your superior ability to "crunch the numbers" and your dedication to Game 2K is unquestioned. You are , however preaching to the choir on your blog. The people who follow you already support your work and the numbers who download your rosters are proof of this. You can always make a comment about the Insiders shoddy work, but don't spend your precious time with the detailed analysis of his deficiencies. You already put in so much time working the 2K project. Relax and enjoy. You have nothing to prove to your supporters.

actually the Insider has been spot on, Nate Robinson was given statistical boosts that you see he actually deserved, 10 rebs last night, 7 rebs tonight.
Its your roster that too stale, and dry with garbage numbers that don't make anyone exciting, nor does it allow for players to have a breakout performance. So please, your one month glory is over. have not been impressed lately with any of your rosters. The Insider is listening to people who provide stats and he's watching EVERY GAME, and checking PER stats, EFC stats, and trends. How do you get your numbers?

I must agree with the first poster - you spend a lot of time analyzing the Insider, when you should just leave him alone and enjoy the game. I guess some analysis about what he does is fine, but you made up 7 charts to illustrate how lopsided he rated Z. Randolph. That's overkill. Two, maybe three charts and some explanation would have been more than enough. We know that you are not satisfied with the Insider's work, and that's why we are here - we feel the same way. Ignore the hate and just keep doing what you do, but lay off the Insider a bit.

Sorry but Rashidi and Ndazone are dead on with the 2k insider. His ratings are garbage. Most of his adjustments to players make no sense at all. The 2K insider basicly just gave 20 3pt shooters who were rated last year in the 60s and made them rated in the 90s because they have been shooting a few open 3s good to start the season. Where is the logic in that? Ratings could be done very well by a group of people if 2K accually cared at all.

Ripping on the insider is fun, I don't even play 2k9 due to how fucking broken of a game it is, but I check this blog just to watch 2k slowly hang themselves, it's depressing but fun.

Rashidi said...

Travis Outlaw has a 94 3pt.

This is more than "ripping on the Insider" for the hell of it.

Travis Outlaw has a 94 3pt.

We are forced to use his roster for online play.

Travis Outlaw has a 94 3pt.

Anonymous said...

I watched Travis Outlaw nail threes in the Corner on both baselines, for 4 games straight, thats where he takes them and makes them. Why hate? its fluid, he'll change it as he sees the player slip/slide. enjoy the ride, stop peeing in the pool

spot on?????? Dwayne Wade's block rating???? that's it. just look at that.

Anonymous said...

Are you using the newest roster update (after the Al/Z-Bo trades) for a bass this time? That update has some away socks and shoes updates like the Bulls white away shoes and Nets white away shoes. I remember in your updates you giving the Bulls white socks but they were stuck with black shoes and now this update solves that little problem. Maybe the one before that update has the shoe edits also but I only noticed it in the one released with the Crawford trades.

when is 4.0 coming out

Anonymous said...

THE 2K INSIDER IS RIGHT
yes Dwayne Wade deserves a 97 block rating. he is averaging 2 blocks a game this year. he is seventh in the league right now. the insider makes his ratings base on the position any way so you wont see him blocking every shot. your just MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STOP HATING you dont see anyone bashing your work that freezes the xbox all the time

IM OUT

Rashidi said...

LOL because it's my fault 2K has a glitchy feature that causes 2K Share files to crash a game?

Seriously, you're blaming me?

And if you REALLY think Dwyane Wade's height is going to stop him from blocking everything, just compare his height to AK47 or J-Smoove.

Rashidi said...

And yeah I'm using the current update.

4.0 is gonna be released when I edit the top players on every team. That's better than me editing every team because people care more about the guys who play. And let's face it, the Insider has yet to touch most of the under-75 crowd anyway. Getting people an up to date roster without RIDICULOUS ratings to starters is more important.

Anonymous said...

the knicks ands clippers trades will be in the 4.0 update right?

Anonymous said...

yeah i guess having wade's block rating higher than Superman's is a good call...you're worthless

Anonymous said...

Dwyane Wade 6-4 has played in 13 games has 26 blocks.

Andrei Kirilenko 6-9 has played in 12 games and has 19 blocks.

Josh Smith 6-9 has played in 4 games has 10 blocks.

ok i compared them and he should block that weak $#|+. he is the only guard in the top 50 in blocking stat column the next one is Rudy Gay who is 6-8 and he has 0.9 blocks a games

tell me why DWADE does not deserve a 97. where do you have him? what did u give him? you do have excellent rosters. the thing you wrote about Rashard Lewis was great. But damn 2k insider is doing his thing to.

IM OUT

Anonymous said...

Dwight is 6-11 and is only averaging 1.9 more blocks than wade. HE IS 6-11. so what are u saying guards need to have a higher ratings for them to get blocks in the game. just like rebounding guards they need to have higher ratings to even out the playing field in the game

Anonymous said...

Probably because, if you simulate an association, he ends up averaging 2.5-3 bpg with a 97 block rating.

Anonymous said...

I agree with all these people about Wade, he deserves a very high block rating. It's fine to say it should be less than 97, but he should have a really high block rating. He's always been one of the best shot blocking guards, and now that he's in the best shape he's ever been in, he has taken it to a new level.

Rashidi said...

LOL

Again, you seem to have Wade confused with Marcus Camby, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo, you know, guys who could actually lead the league in the category in real life.

Blocking 2 shots per game is nothing special. He's 6'4, good for him. A 97 block will have him blocking the opposing guard's shot 5 times per game EASY, nevermind all the bigger players he'll now be swatting. Charles Barkley was only 6'4, Dennis Rodman only 6'5, does that mean their rebound ratings should have been in the hundreds? (Huh, Charles Barkley? Isnt he the fat guy on TNT? What R U talking bout?)

LOL I like how someone used Josh Smith "10 blocks in 4 games" as a reason Wade should have a higher block rating than J-Smoove. That's 2.5 bpg fool. Wade is averaging 2.0.

Top 20 in block% (better than bpm)
1. Ronny Turiaf-GSW 9.6
2. Dwight Howard-ORL 7.8
3. Andrew Bynum-LAL 6.7
4. Brandan Wright-GSW 6.4
5. Marcus Camby-LAC 6.3
6. Kendrick Perkins-BOS 5.7
7. Tyrus Thomas-CHI 5.4
8. Ben Wallace-CLE 5.4
9. Spencer Hawes-SAC 5.3
10. Dwyane Wade-MIA 4.5
11. Darrell Arthur-MEM 4.5
12. Samuel Dalembert-PHI 4.4
13. Emeka Okafor-CHA 4.2
14. Erick Dampier-DAL 4.2
15. Paul Millsap-UTA 4.2
16. Andrei Kirilenko-UTA 4.2
17. Al Horford-ATL 4.1
18. Nene Hilario-DEN 4.0
19. Tyson Chandler-NOH 4.0
20. Andrea Bargnani-TOR 3.9

Wow, tied with Darrell Arthur. OBVIOUSLY he should be a 97. That he is a mere 0.6% better than ANDREA BARGNANI should say it all.

Josh Smith, btw, is at 5.8 for the year, had 5.9 last year, and is at 5.9 for his career. He has finished 8th, 3rd, and 3rd in B% over the last three years.

Wade in his best shot blocking season ever is only 10th, has never finished a season higher than 2.5, and is at 1.9 for his career.

Anonymous said...

Rashidi you need to just give in on the one because nobody is seeing it your way. Im not saying he deserves a 97 but you are going by what he has done and everybody else is going by what he is doing. The thing about being able to edit rosters is that it can always change if his blocking goes down. But so far he has been consistent.

What are you giving him for blocks is what you should be talking about, instead of LOL'ing the small fan base thats here supporting what you do.

And post some tendency edits

Anonymous said...

Hi Rashidi

When your update comes to PS3 ? I'm a big fan of your update and i'm agree with you: living roster sucks :(

"Nobody is seeing it my way?"

What are you smoking man, go to any 2k board right now and they are talking about the absurdity of that.

He is AT BEST 15 points overrated, and this isn't going by my scale, this is by 2K's. At worst, he's overrated by 30 points, keeping in mind this is only a 50 point scale.

Brent Nahmias said...

LOL at the idiots who actually try and justify Wade at 97 block off of such a small sample (and mostly one game). So should Chris Bosh be 97 at 3's because he's shooting 50% on them this year? LOL fucking idiots who don't even watch NBA games.

Anonymous said...

What the hell? 10th isn't impressive? A lot of people who are debating on this here would definitely settle for lower than 97, but c'mon the guy should have a very high rating if he's #10 on that list and 6'4. Right now you have him at what, 60? He's due for a big upgrade.

Rashidi said...

10th does not equal -2 from max rating, regardless of height. If you're gonna use height as a crutch, what's next, Josh Smith/Tyrus Thomas getting boosts because they're shorter than Dwight Howard and Greg Oden?

Anonymous said...

Hey Rashidi

Do you rate people on their shooting form or percentages or both? Like if you thought Kyle Korver had a better looking shot than Kobe Bryant would you rate Kyle Korver higher?

Rashidi said...

No. Good mechanics do not automatically lead to success. Shawn Marion has an ugly shot but it still goes in.

Anonymous said...

Your all basing that having a 99 on something would mean they are superior. Yes Dwayne Wade may have a 97 block rating but what is his contest shot tendency? The 2kinsider updates based on how well the player is performing at the moment.

You try and slate him yet when you slated about O.J.Mayo being an 86 you have him at an 84.

Play the game and you will see the averages for blocks Wade will get. Instead of finding every single moment to slate someone who gets paid a nice sum and you get paid nothing. Jelous seems to be the case.

Anonymous said...

I watch every televised blazer game out here. I would consider myself a little biased towards my team like most fans are towards there team. But in no stretch of the imagination does Travis Outlaw deserve a 94 3pt rating. A 3pt rating for him in the mid 80s is insane, let alone a 94. Horrible. And anybody who justifys these ratings is a moron.

Anonymous said...

And to the guy who posted before me, maybe you are right about Wade's contested shot tendency. But how do you explain the several other horrible ratings like the one I just mentioned? Do you think a low 3pt tendency for Outlaw is going to keep people who use Blazers online from jacking 3's with Outlaw now?

Anonymous said...

Likewise, the poster seems to be reasoning that the answer should be "boosting Wade's block instead of his contest tendency" when ironically, the answer (and action the Insider should have taken) would have been VICE VERSA.

Anonymous said...

I agree the with the versa vice post. I think about it guys. 97 blocking mean he blocking alot more then 2.0 blocks a game. I would give him at most a 86-90. And turned up his shot blocking tend.

But what i can't believe i the debate over Outlaw 3pt rating. I think anyone that watches basketball/plays this game will know thats a little too much.

My beef with whole rating system is that its really early in the season to boost these guys to such elite levels. Or lowering guys like Steve Nash and Jason Terry. A case can be made for Terry. But nash is playing in system he has never played before. Slow tempo basketball.Asking him to be a Spot-up shooter. We all know Nash is still the same player. You can see by last stat line of 20pt 15ast. And some Nash like 3 pointers.

I really think The Insider doesn't play this game. Or is super bias

Anonymous said...

Man great work with the rosters, but I think the 2k Insider is still a real improvement over what we've had in the past. Think of how long it took to get roster updates for 2k8 and the amount of time it took to get lots of missing players added.

The Insider may have issues with ratings (and, honestly, there's no way to have ratings that satisfy everyone), but he's doing a good job of keeping rosters current and adding players, which was a huge pain in the past (as I'm sure you remember).

Anonymous said...

Hey Rashidi:
Love your work. But I have one complaint: The whole Phoenix Suns Team's foul tendency is WAY too FUCKING high. I understand that Shaq fouls at a high rate, but 80? What the fuck? Also I love how Nash has a tendency of about 50 while he only picks up 1.5 fouls per game for his career.

Anonymous said...

Hey Rashidi

How do you rate intangible ratings like Shooting off the dribble or Potential?

Anonymous said...

Out of curiosity, are the 360 & PS3 Insider rosters the same?
I just downloaded the latest roster for PS3 (no Rashidi roster yet *tear*) and notices that not only are there two Sonny Weems, but one of them has a picture and he has similar skin tone to Michael Beasley! Dunno man, Sonny's skin looks much darker than that everywhere else.

Rashidi said...

Whoever is posting PS3 rosters, it's not me, nor is it anyone affiliated with me.

Just give the file a low rating since they're posers.
