Details on 2K Sports' 10-12-10 roster update.

This is what 2K Sports and the 2K Insider were able to manage in 8 days. Truly embarrassing. I've done more in the last HOUR while watching a pre-season game.

Kevin Durant
93 Overall (+1)
84 Handle (+7)
80 OffHand (+9)
84 Speed (+3)
87 Quickness (+2)

Trevor Ariza
75 Overall (-2)
78 Inside (-5)
65 FT (-9) - This is what I gave him.
60 Security (-8) - This is what I gave him.
55 Pass (-1)
83 Steal (-4) - I had him at 84.
48 OffReb (-10)
56 DefReb (+4) - This is what I gave him.
71 OffAwr (-4) - This is what I gave him.
82 DefAwr (-2) - I had him at 81.
25 OffClutch (-20)
88 Durability (+25) - Are they on drugs? Ariza missed 10 games last year and 47 in 2008.

Leandro Barbosa
74 Overall (-1) - This was clearly due to complaints that he was higher than Bargnani.
82 Medium (-2) - Laziest edit I've ever seen.

Eddie House
80 3pt (-2) - This is what I gave him.
72 Layup (+14) - Having seen House in NY last season... LOL
78 Handle (+6) - I understand why they raised it (major OVR boost), and I've toyed with doing it too, but the reality is the guy's handle is so bad he can't be trusted to bring the ball up the court under any sort of pressure.
72 OffHand (+6)
74 Security (+5) - This is what I gave him.
49 Pass (+10)
73 Hands (+3) - I had him at 72.
71 OffAwr (+14) - For a 3pt specialist that can't run point? Um...
52 DefAwr (+9)
65 Consistency (+40) - About time, though 65 is a bit high for such a streaky player.
83 Stamina (+6)
84 Speed (+3)
82 Quickness (-2)
40 Strength (+7)
75 Hustle (+20) - This is what I gave him.

Earl Watson - still in free agents even though Utah signed him to a guaranteed contract last month.

Jannero Pargo - still on Hornets roster even though they waived him.

Coby Karl - still on Denver's roster even though he signed in Spain last month.

Luther Head, Melvin Ely, Bobby Simmons, etc. - still in Free Agents even though other camp players were added to their respective teams (Chris Quinn to Sixers, Kyle Weaver to Bulls, etc)

The new rosters make significant changes to the way the game plays. I suggest you start all over with the new roster set.

How so? Did they finally test Touches? The more I test them the worst they appear out of the box.

This seems like more of Patch o.5 than it does a roster update. All these changes can't just be made via player edits.

You gotta start sending letters man. You can't let the 2k insider continue to steal your ratings and get paid for it. Let 2k know what's going on. Show them your work and they should hire you.

Eddie House got a rating increase too, dont knwo what exactly changed but he is now OV65 and was 58 or so before

Great Ratings, but I think when u changed Kevin Durant's weight u made his body model huge. now he looks like he's on Roids

Any specifics?

Good look, I added him to the post.

@ Rashidi : It really seems to play a lot different, there´s way more off-the-ball movement (almost as if they only just now "acticated" the freelance tendencies)
-less bumping on lateral movement (not going to the basket) and better ability to get by big men with guards, better shooting ability (not ratings wise but just playing seems obvious, the cpu does much better on Sim and won´t go 2-16 every other game)

Less catchup on fastbreaks, passes are more "crisp"

yea i thought it was a placebo effect, bc i was sort of expecting some sort of gameplay adjustment this is the first roster release really.players on human controlled team seem more alive.
the d is still tough vs cpu but it's not as cheesy maybe im tripin

Also keep in mind when switching a player's position that sometimes their signature Shots & Dribbles will also change, notably switching from SG to Sf & viceversa or SF to PF & Viceversa. I'm not sure if you made any position changes, but I have.

I can't view OS posts.

I ran a CPU sim, Lakers vs Thunder again.

Durant: 52 points, 21-46 FG, 5-18 3PT, 5-6 FT

Kobe: 33 points, 14-28 FG, 1-3 3PT, 4-4 FT

What did they fix?

I know this happens for PF/SF (not nearly as much as past seasons), but haven't noticed it for SG/SF. What changes?

have you adjusted the "touches" slider for each player? i played OKC vs ORL with your roster and Durant shots 19 times the first quarter with OKC running the EXACT same play for him on most of those attempts. any plans to adjust for this??

thanks for all your work!

-Passing was adjusted, there were too many turnovers.

-You can actually make fast breaks now.

-3 Point Shooting shot success is a lot better than before.

-Less unrealistic contact.

-Gamespeed was changed. Players now feel lighter, the game plays faster now.

-Offball Movement was improved.

-Defensive control; you are now in control.

I played online last night and hit 4 of 5 threes with monta ellis (though curry couldn't buy a shot). Still, 3pt accuracy definitely improved. When the #1 ranked online players are only hitting 25% of their threes, its clearly broken.

Why they would do this via roster instead of patch though is pretty irritating, not just for me, but for all the people who put in work on classic rosters. Still, at least a change was made sooner rather than later.

For the moment I will continue editing as before. If the changes made are going to be patched in, there is no need to restart the roster. However, that information needs to be confirmed asap, as well as whether 2K plans on doing this again.

I noticed the signature dribbles changes when the player has a low ballhandling rating and i switched positions.

for example take a SF with ballhandling below 60 and switch him to a SG and his sigs change. If u temporarily boost his ballhandling to a high rating , switch positions & then change the rating back, he keeps his signature dribble

i would go ahead and re-start or else your giving the hater's a reason not to use your roster.
example: last year no dynamic attendance, headbands, injuries
(was dyn attendance and headbands patched in?)

same as nogster starting his work with don nelson in and numberous 1st rd pics out, i know you guys do alot .. but wouldnt you want the best roster/experience available?
i hateeeeeeee living rosters btw.
well i'd like it if you were the dude. i want to use your roster but i'm not doin another year of missing out on things bc a roster.

or he can NOT use the update, then when someone else does and applies his ratings and gets more downloads he can cry and moan.

Yeah but that's just it - how many more gameplay updates are going to come via rosters? I don't want to restart and then 2 weeks later there's another gameplay update via roster.

The reality is it takes many hours to sit down and edit a roster. It's not something anyone wants to do more than they have to.

Hopefully this isn't a response to the good work you're doing here.

Btw, does anyone know how to upload a file to 2K Share without making a separate one? I want to continuously overwrite my file rather than have a million floating around.
